Slayers 2 Weapon Tier List – Best Weapon for Slayer, Demon

If you’re playing as a Slayer in Slayers 2 and you’re wondering which weapons are actually worth getting, this guide covers the main weapons currently shown in the game. Each weapon has a different way of being obtained, and some are much more useful depending on whether you’re fighting bosses, farming, or playing against other players.

In this post, I’ll go through every Slayer weapon covered in the showcase, explain where you can get each one, what its skills do, and what I personally think about its overall usefulness. I’ll also explain the Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 raid chests because some of the weapons are locked behind these rewards.

I’ve also added a weapon tier list at the end based on the abilities and practical usefulness shown in the showcase. Keep in mind that weapon damage can change depending on upgrades and other character stats, so I’m focusing more on the actual moves, utility, and how useful each weapon can be in a fight.

Slayers 2 Weapon Tier List – Best Weapon for Slayer, Demon

Before going through every weapon individually, here’s how I would currently place the weapons covered in this guide.

S Tier

Spear

The Spear stands out because both of its skills provide strong defensive utility, including iframe-like windows that can help you avoid incoming attacks and boss ultimates.

A Tier

Tanto

Tanto is a Legendary endgame-oriented weapon obtained from a Tier 3 raid chest. Its rarity and late-game source make it an attractive weapon, although the showcase doesn’t provide enough information to put it above Spear purely from utility.

Gunshot

Gunshot is another Legendary weapon with useful abilities, including an iframe on its third skill. Being able to avoid a major incoming attack gives it strong practical value.

B Tier

Gauntlet

Gauntlet is a Legendary weapon that costs 100,000 in-game cash from the Black Market NPC. It has some useful attacks, but at least one of its skills has a relatively slow starting animation, making it easier for opponents to block, parry, counter, or dodge.

C Tier

Cutlass

Cutlass is a Rare weapon with two straightforward skills. It’s useful for early progression, but its abilities don’t provide the same level of defensive utility as the higher-tier weapons.

Note: This tier list is based on the weapons and information shown in the original showcase. The secret/end-game weapon mentioned in the video isn’t included because its abilities weren’t shown.

Cutlass

Let’s start with the Cutlass.

The Cutlass is a Rare weapon and can be obtained as a drop from the boss at Starter Island.

Because it’s a Rare weapon and comes from an early-game boss, this is one of the weapons you can realistically work toward relatively early in your progression.

The damage you see from the weapon can vary depending on your weapon upgrades and other stats, so I wouldn’t judge it purely by the damage numbers shown in a showcase.

Instead, the important thing is what its skills actually do.

Double Cut

The first skill is called Double Cut.

When you use it, the weapon launches two air slashes toward your target.

The attack deals damage and knocks the enemy back slightly.

It’s a fairly straightforward ability, but it gives the Cutlass some ranged pressure instead of forcing you to stay directly next to your opponent.

Quick Draw

The second skill is called Quick Draw.

You release a powerful air strike toward the enemy.

If the attack connects, you follow up with several quick slashes before knocking the enemy back.

This gives the Cutlass a little more combo and damage potential compared with simply relying on its normal attacks.

Is Cutlass Worth Getting?

For an early-game Rare weapon, Cutlass is perfectly usable.

The main problem is that its abilities are fairly straightforward when compared with the stronger Legendary and Epic weapons.

I’d mainly use it as a progression weapon until you have access to something better.

Tier: C

Gunshot

Next up is Gunshot.

Gunshot is a Legendary weapon that can be crafted from the Blacksmith located in Hidden Mist Village.

Unlike Cutlass, you don’t simply obtain this one from a normal boss drop.

You’ll need to collect the materials required for the crafting recipe.

Gunshot Crafting Materials

Gunshot requires three items to craft.

Two of the required materials can be obtained from chests.

The third material is more difficult because it comes from a boss that spawns during Final Selection.

This is particularly important because Final Selection is described as a one-time raid.

Because of that, I would make sure you obtain the required boss drop before completing the raid.

You don’t want to finish the event and then realize that you missed the material you needed for your weapon.

Gunshot Skills

Gunshot has multiple skills, and one of the most interesting parts of the weapon is its defensive utility.

The third skill has an iframe, or an invulnerability window, that can allow you to avoid incoming attacks.

Why the Iframe Matters

This type of ability can be extremely useful when fighting bosses.

If you recognize that a boss is about to use a powerful attack or ultimate, you can activate the skill at the right moment and avoid the incoming damage.

That makes Gunshot more than just a damage weapon.

You also get a defensive tool that can help you survive dangerous attacks.

Is Gunshot Worth Getting?

Because it’s Legendary and has an iframe ability, I think Gunshot is a very useful weapon to work toward.

The crafting requirements can take some effort, especially because of the Final Selection material, but the utility makes it worthwhile.

Tier: A

Spear

The next weapon is the Spear, which is an Epic weapon.

You can obtain it from a Tier 2 Open World Raid Chest.

I’ll explain how these raid chests work in a moment, because understanding the chest system is important if you want to collect some of the higher-tier weapons.

For now, let’s focus on why I think Spear is one of the most interesting weapons in the showcase.

Spear Skills

Spear has two skills, and both of them have what appears to be an iframe or iframe-like window.

This is the main reason I rate Spear so highly.

Avoid Boss Attacks

When a boss or another player is about to use an attack or ultimate, you can activate the Spear skill at the correct moment to avoid the incoming attack.

This gives you a lot of defensive utility.

Instead of simply blocking or trying to run away from an attack, you can use the weapon’s skill to completely avoid the danger if your timing is correct.

This is especially useful in boss fights where learning attack patterns is important.

Why I Like Spear

Personally, this is the weapon from the showcase that I would be most interested in getting.

The fact that both skills can provide iframe utility gives it a major advantage.

You’re not only getting another source of damage. You’re also getting tools that can help you survive powerful attacks.

For PvE, especially against bosses with predictable ultimates, this can be extremely useful.

Tier: S

Gauntlet

Next we have the Gauntlet.

Gauntlet is a Legendary weapon that can be purchased from the Black Market NPC for 100,000 in-game cash.

That’s a pretty significant amount of money, so naturally, you’ll want to know whether it’s worth spending your cash on.

Gauntlet’s Strengths and Weaknesses

Gauntlet has several attacks that can deal good damage, but one important weakness was noticeable during the showcase.

One of its skills has a relatively slow starting animation.

That gives your opponent time to react.

Depending on the situation, they may be able to:

  • Block the attack
  • Parry it
  • Counter it
  • Dodge it

That doesn’t mean the weapon is bad.

It simply means you need to be more careful about when you use the slower abilities.

Is Gauntlet Worth 100,000?

I would consider Gauntlet a decent Legendary weapon, but I wouldn’t blindly spend 100,000 cash on it without considering your other options.

If you already have a strong weapon such as Spear or Gunshot, you may want to think about whether the Gauntlet fits your playstyle.

For players who like its moveset, it can still be a useful weapon.

Tier: B

Tanto

Tanto is another Legendary weapon.

This one is obtained from a Tier 3 Open World Raid Chest, which means you’ll need to participate in the appropriate raid event to have a chance at getting it.

Since Tier 3 is the highest chest tier mentioned in the showcase, Tanto is positioned as one of the more endgame-oriented weapons shown here.

The exact value of Tanto will depend heavily on its moveset and how well you can use those abilities.

Why Tanto Is Interesting

The biggest attraction is its source.

You’re not simply buying Tanto from an NPC or farming an early-game boss.

You need to participate in a higher-tier Open World Raid and obtain the Tier 3 chest.

That makes it a weapon worth working toward as you progress into the later parts of the game.

Based on the showcase alone, I would put it in A Tier, but future testing and more information could easily change its placement.

Tier: A

How Open World Raid Chests Work

If you’re wondering how to get the weapons locked behind Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 chests, the system is fairly simple.

You’ll find raid NPCs with locked chests scattered around the map.

When the raid event starts, you need to complete the raid.

After successfully completing it, the chest becomes available and you can claim your rewards.

The important part is that the location of the raid determines the chest tier.

Tier 1 Raid Chest

If the raid happens around Starter Village, you’ll receive a Tier 1 chest.

This is the lowest chest tier.

Because it’s associated with the starting area, you can expect it to be aimed more toward earlier progression.

Tier 2 Raid Chest

If the raid takes place around Butterfly Mansion, you’ll receive a Tier 2 chest.

This is the chest tier associated with the middle area mentioned in the showcase.

The Spear, for example, is obtained from a Tier 2 Open World Raid Chest.

Tier 3 Raid Chest

If the raid happens around the Snow Village, you’ll receive a Tier 3 chest.

This is the highest chest tier mentioned in the video.

Tanto is obtained from a Tier 3 Open World Raid Chest, making this raid location especially important if you’re trying to obtain that weapon.

Raid Chest System in Simple Terms

You can remember it like this:

Starter Village → Tier 1

Butterfly Mansion → Tier 2

Snow Village → Tier 3

So if you’re specifically looking for a weapon from a certain chest tier, pay attention to where the Open World Raid is taking place.

Which Slayer Weapon Should You Get First?

If you’re wondering which weapon you should focus on, I’d look at the utility of the weapon rather than simply its rarity.

Spear stands out to me because of its iframe-based skills.

Being able to avoid major boss attacks can make a huge difference, especially when you’re farming difficult bosses.

Gunshot is also attractive because it gives you iframe utility while being a Legendary weapon.

Tanto is worth working toward if you’re already participating in Tier 3 raids, while Gauntlet is an option if you have enough cash and enjoy its moveset.

Cutlass is more of an early progression weapon.

Weapon Tier List Explained

Here’s how I’d summarize the weapons covered in this guide.

S Tier — Spear

Spear gets the top position because its two skills provide extremely useful iframe-style defensive options.

The ability to avoid powerful attacks is valuable in both PvE and potentially PvP.

A Tier — Gunshot and Tanto

Gunshot gets A Tier because of its iframe utility and Legendary rarity, although its crafting requirements can be annoying because of the Final Selection material.

Tanto also gets A Tier because it’s a Legendary Tier 3 raid weapon and is positioned as a late-game weapon.

More testing could change its exact placement.

B Tier — Gauntlet

Gauntlet is a solid Legendary weapon, but the slower startup on at least one of its abilities makes it easier for opponents to react.

It can still be good in the right hands, but I don’t think its showcased utility is quite as impressive as Spear or Gunshot.

C Tier — Cutlass

Cutlass is useful for early progression and has straightforward offensive abilities.

However, compared with the other weapons in this showcase, it doesn’t provide the same defensive utility.

It’s still worth using if you’re starting out, especially because it’s obtainable from the Starter Island boss.

That’s the full weapon showcase based on the weapons covered in the video.

If you’re just starting out, Cutlass can be a useful weapon to get from the Starter Island boss. As you progress, you can start working toward stronger weapons such as Gunshot, Spear, Gauntlet, and Tanto.

For me, Spear is the standout weapon from this showcase because of its iframe utility. Being able to avoid powerful boss attacks can make difficult fights much easier, and it’s especially useful if you learn the timing of enemy abilities.

Gunshot is another weapon I’d keep an eye on because of its iframe skill, while Tanto is an interesting late-game option because of its Tier 3 raid requirement.

Don’t forget about the raid chest system either. If you’re hunting for a specific weapon, remember that the raid location determines the chest tier:

Starter Village = Tier 1

Butterfly Mansion = Tier 2

Snow Village = Tier 3

As Slayers 2 continues to receive updates, weapon balance and rankings can change. A weapon that looks average now could become much stronger after a balance change, so I’d always pay attention to new patches before deciding what to permanently invest in.
