Magi Scapes is an enchanting RPG where you dive into a whimsical world filled with magical creatures and quests. You’ll create unique characters that can embark on various adventures alongside you. The character generation system is intriguing, letting you design your ideal companion that influences your gameplay experience.

Getting the character you want can take some time, especially with the queue system. Initially, it can take over an hour for your husbando or waifu to manifest.

Make sure to utilize the wait time to gather materials and enhance your setup. Early characters might struggle, but the right preparation can set you up for success in this magical realm.

This page offers detailed insights on character generation in Magi Scapes, including tips for crafting backstories and optimizing your character’s abilities. Additionally, don’t miss the chance to create strong companions that can aid in your journey, as their effectiveness can greatly impact your early-game performance.

You start out as a regular armored guardian for a brief period and then, after defeating the first boss, you can choose between two characters—a white-haired male or female featured in the trailer.

Your first recruit isn’t your personal character, and you won’t switch to control them, so make them a top-tier husbando or waifu! I’d recommend using a highly detailed anime image with a transparent background for the best effect. Here’s what I used:

– Create a detailed backstory for them, including jobs and a class. I made Mike, a Dark Elf chef who can farm, fish, and cook.

Don’t be surprised if your husbando or waifu appears in a robe or cloak and makes odd sounds like “wuu wuu woo woo”. They’re cursed and being generated in a queue (look for them as a Chibi Ignacia on the left).

Don’t let the wait time throw you off; it took over an hour for my husbando to emerge, but it was totally worth it! The game had just launched, and the servers were packed.

Good news is, the queue times have been improved, so now generation happens in just minutes.

While your character is generating, take the opportunity to explore the game. Gather materials, build, and just get a feel for things until it’s time to reveal your partner.

Eventually, you’ll get a random quest called “Remove Curse“ which allows you to take off that trash bag from your first pixel love or self-insert. Ta-da! They’re real! And yours can be, too!

Heads Up:

After you finish the intro with Crazy Yandere Big Sister Mommy Princess, hold off on creating a second character since you’ll get a mandatory quest to make one anyway. I learned this the hard way by creating a second OC before I was forced to, so stick with your first OC for now and enjoy their company as your crystals slowly dwindle, which brings me to the next point.

Princess Point Rewards and Crystals

You accumulate princess points by playing and completing tasks for rewards. Think of them as a permanent free season pass or a more limited version of Nook Miles.

Magi Scapes Character Generation - Princess Point Rewards and Crystals 6

Claiming these rewards gets you Source Crystal Cores, which you need along with regular crystals to generate more characters, so don’t forget to claim rewards often!

The game generously provides you with plenty of crystals to create a few characters and enjoy hours of audio chat with them. Everything else is free, so honestly, 5 crystals for 100 characters of live audio is a fantastic deal, especially if you plan to adventure with one character most of the time.

Your recruits will sound amazing based on the descriptions you give them; their voices reflect that. My female warrior has a deep, elegant, breathy voice unlike most women in the game, while Mike, my chef from earlier, sounds like a refined, calm NPC.

The shop is pretty generous, too. For just a few bucks (1-10$, if you’re frugal like me), you can have an entire mini OC town chatting away for hours.

BUT: Saving Your Crystals

Listen up. You seriously don’t want a bunch of your waifus and husbandos talking over each other and burning through your crystals, especially since you get Aurelia, a free recruit, early on. They’ll chatter nonstop and comment on your base constantly.

Turn on Ai Voice (in settings) only if you can handle the chaos of NPCs talking over one another, sometimes interrupting right before finishing their sentences…OR if you just want to stroll around with only one generated character. Just remember, only your recruits and party members use crystals, so you don’t have to worry about random in-game NPCs at the Tavern draining your funds with their random dialogue.

Here are some tips to avoid wasting crystals and maximize fun with Ai Voice on:

– Explore with 1 or 2 characters. I tried bringing 3 with me, and they just talked over one another, constantly cutting each other off. Keep it down to two for smoother interactions, and being with just one character is totally hassle-free.

– Turn off Ai Voice when you get back to your base. Since Aurelia is a free recruit and you’ll get more free recruits soon, they’ll waste crystals repeating the same things around your base. You have no idea how many times I’ve heard Mike say he wants to turn the berries outside our house into a tart. He’s now Tart Man, and everyone claps for him daily.

Raids and Reviving NPCs

Are you finding yourself dying at night because you were busy running around like a kid in a candy store instead of securing your base and focusing on main quests? Yeah, I’ve been there.

You might be feeling a bit frustrated since the game only gives you a few free revival elixirs, and like my past self, you’re too wrapped up in hoarding materials and chatting with your OCs to care about much else. I’ve accidentally left Aurelia behind to die so many times, only to come back to her ghost with either wolves or raiders in my house.

Here’s how to fix that: Craft the Potion Distillation Flask and make some Revival Elixirs. You’ll get a main quest for the crafting station, or you can snatch one from town.

You can spot the Edelweiss flower in the Snow/Frost Biome. Plus, you’ll get a shovel during the main story to dig up sand in the desert.

You can also befriend Ignacia, but honestly, I’d skip this. NPC friendships can be a drag in these games. Berries are an easy gift, but reaching 50 affection feels like a stretch when you can easily find revival elixir materials.

STOP running around like it’s Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse and focus on the main story! Upgrade your base at your banner as soon as you meet the requirements.

This helps you unlock more crafting recipes. I just wrapped up the farming quest that taught me how to farm, so you can definitely get this done earlier than my slow self did.

– Build a fence around your base. Enemies often get stuck at gates and doors, which means you can hit them through the fence or wall easily.

– Make sure your NPCs have decent armor and magic spells equipped. Magic is super strong when given to an NPC—they keep attacking and stay at a distance, which helps them survive longer.

– NPCs usually won’t attack unless a monster is right in their face or you’ve been hit while in a party. Always have someone in your party ready to handle a raid with you.

Quests and Items

Quests are pretty straightforward. Just follow the yellow/orange question marks for main quests and the blue ones for side quests.

If you’re lost, try to remember where you last accepted the quest. Checking the underground layer of the map screen can help if your quest is underground.

Items generated by the game do what their descriptions say, but you might also find items that you just consume and hope for the best. Don’t forget about leftover key items from quests; you can sell or give those away.

I’m never eating this, though. It was given to me by my husbando, Tart Man.

Money, Clay, and Animals

I don’t really feel like I need money right now, and I bet you don’t either, but we want it anyway. I have no clue what I’m going to spend it on since I’m still in the early game, but let’s hoard it!

First, steal the land! Steal it!

You can snag farm plots in town by digging them up with a shovel you receive in the main story. If you’ve lost that shovel, you can also craft one at the farming station.

There’s tons of free farmland underground too, especially in the dwarf fortress.

Gather clay to craft farmland at the farming station if you want to avoid stealing from the NPCs… though honestly, you should really consider stealing. Clay is found underground and looks like crumbled rock mixed in with regular ore.

Now, let’s start your wheat farm. Why wheat?

Because your livestock will devour a stack of 99 wheat in no time. They’ll treat it like oxygen, and so will you once you realize how awesome it is.

Have some of your recruits handle the farming so you can skip out on watering or harvesting your countless land plots.

Magi Scapes Character Generation - Money, Clay, and Animals 16

Your cows and sheep will munch through all your wheat and multiply in the blink of an eye. Plus, you’ll have a constant, quick source of food for your recruits if you can bake bread.

Magi Scapes Character Generation - Money, Clay, and Animals 17

Get ready for your animals to be hungry all the time. Even with just 10 animals, that stack of 99 wheat disappears fast (come on, fix this, developers, I love you!). You can take everything from your farm slave’s inventory and sell what you don’t need, especially all those seeds.

As I mentioned, berries make great gifts for many NPCs. They stack quickly and are a convenient snack when you don’t feel like cooking.

Plus, you can sell any extras, so be sure to hoard berry bushes from other biomes. Learn from my curse: keep an eye on your OC cooks, especially one who becomes ‘Tart Man’ and talks about berries nonstop. Move those berry bushes far from their beds!

Until I find a way to feed my animals a mountain of wheat daily while keeping a diverse farm life, I’ll just have to be Wheat Woman. Welcome to the Wheat Woman club!

Enjoy the creative process, and remember to give your character a unique backstory to maximize their potential! Happy gaming!
