The long-awaited Lightning Update has finally dropped in Blox Fruits, bringing with it one of the most exciting reworks in the game’s history. This update doesn’t just revamp the Lightning Fruit — it also introduces a new fishing system, crafting and potion mechanics, the Lightning Event, and the Summer Gacha with exclusive rewards.
If you’ve been wondering what’s new, how the Lightning Fruit works after the rework, or how to get started with fishing and crafting, this guide will walk you through everything in detail.
Lightning Fruit Rework Explained
The Lightning Fruit now revolves around a new orb system. Orbs are generated by landing attacks or passively over time. Every ability consumes a certain number of orbs, rewarding players who carefully manage resources.
Z Skills (Three Variants)
- Z1 (1 Orb) – Fires a fast lightning projectile that explodes on impact. Best for ranged pokes and quick pressure.
- Z2 (1 Orb) – A slightly charged version that pulls enemies in and stuns them. Perfect for combo starters or catching runners.
- Z3 (2 Orbs) – Summons an electrified dragon that dashes forward.
- Hidden Mechanic: At close range, it transforms into a grab combo, unleashing massive damage.
X Skill – Storm Clouds
- Summons storm clouds that linger.
- These clouds absorb lightning orbs and extend combos.
- Synergy example: Use Z1/Z3 into clouds to enhance their effects.
C Skill – Thunder Strike (Upgraded)
- Retains the same concept as the old Lightning Fruit’s thunder attack.
- Now has greater range, stronger visuals, and harder impact.
V Skill – Charged Explosion
- Can be charged with up to 4 orbs.
- The more orbs used, the larger and deadlier the explosion.
- This is the big finisher move in the kit.
F Skill – Teleport Dash
- Base version: Teleport for mobility.
- With orbs: Can chain enemies and deal damage.
- Each orb = one dash, so with 4 orbs, you can dash up to 4 times.
PvP Potential
The rework makes Lightning one of the highest skill-ceiling fruits. With proper orb management and combo setups, it becomes a dangerous PvP tool full of mix-ups, mobility, and damage pressure.
Fishing System Guide
A completely new feature arrives with this update — Fishing. Here’s how it works:
How to Start Fishing
- Talk to the Fisherman NPC to get your first rod and bait.
- Cast into the water and wait.
- When the indicator appears, react quickly to lock the fish.
- Reel it in by keeping the icon inside the bar.
Rarity & Difficulty
- Common fish are easy to reel in.
- Rare/Mythical fish (like the Terror Fish) fight back harder.
- Leveling up fishing makes catching tougher fish easier.
Fishing Progression
- Casting upgrades – land perfect casts.
- Bait effectiveness – craft more bait.
- Lure upgrades – keep your lure on target during minigames.
- Fishing level – increases with each fish caught, rare fish give more XP.
Angler NPC

- Gives time-gated quests for new rods and special bait.
- Essential for progressing into high-level fishing.
Extra Rewards
Fishing isn’t just about fish:
- Treasure chests
- Fruits
- Secret recipes for crafting
Crafting & Potions
With fishing materials and drops from sea events, you can now craft useful potions and food.
How to Craft
- Use wooden planks to build a campfire.
- Craft items from there using collected materials.

The Lightning Event
This event triggers every hour:
- Storm clouds electrify certain enemies across the seas.
- Defeating them drops Summer Tokens.
- Higher seas (especially Sea 3) give more tokens.
Summer Gacha
The Summer Gacha dealer lets you spend your Summer Tokens.
- Works like regular Gacha but with higher chances of rare fruits.
- Includes limited-time fruit skins only available during the event.
- Skins will rotate in future weeks, so don’t miss out.
