Heian [TESTING] Curse Technique Tier List (August 2025)

S-Tier (Meta-Defining, Must-Have)

Shrine – Overwhelmingly strong, with long-range moves and reliable pressure. Every attack is threatening, making Shrine top-tier in both PvP and PvE.

Blood Manipulation – Versatile and deadly, with ranged projectiles, fast shots, and combo potential. In ganks or Shrine pairings, it becomes unstoppable.

Sky Manipulation (NEW)

  • How to Unlock: Defeat the new Fire Boss (found via Terra Castle levers and basement door) and then visit the Sky Manipulation Trainer in the floating mist area above the desert path.
  • Abilities: Grants players aerial movement options like sky-jumps, space dashes, and vertical scaling. Combos include chase tools, air-based strikes, and aerial dominance.
  • Potential Tier: Likely A or even S Tier, since flight-style movement and aerial combos are extremely powerful in both PvP and exploration.

A-Tier

Blazing Courage (Dragon) – High-damage fire-based CT. Excels in boss fights and PvP thanks to flame attacks with wide coverage.

Ice Formation – Ice Lance freeze is game-changing in group fights. Some moves are weaker, but crowd control potential makes this CT a powerhouse.

Projection Sorcery – Teleporting behind enemies opens up devastating combo setups. Excellent for PvP duels.

B-Tier

Sword Saint – Has the signature orbiting sword strike, which is more annoying than threatening. Damage output is low, but can chip at enemies.

Ratio – Offers situational combos and PvE cheese strategies (like hitting bosses from safe angles). Not as reliable in PvP.

C-Tier

Cursed Energy Discharge – Basic ranged projectile CT. Fun to play with, but low damage and low efficiency compared to others.

F-Tier

Limitless – Hyped but currently underpowered. Moves are CE-heavy and low damage. Developers have admitted it needs a buff.

Mythical Beast Amber – Widely considered trash. Rarely used and heavily outclassed by other CTs.

Auspicious Beasts – Lacks impact. More gimmicky than effective.

Quick Summary

  • Best CTs (S-Tier): Shrine, Blood Manipulation
  • Strong Options (A-Tier): Blazing Courage, Ice Formation, Projection Sorcery, and potentially Sky Manipulation
  • Mid-Tier Picks (B & C): Sword Saint, Ratio, Cursed Energy Discharge
  • Worst (F-Tier): Limitless, Mythical Beast Amber, Auspicious Beasts

The Curse Technique system in Heian [TESTING] is what makes the game’s combat so replayable. Each CT introduces unique mechanics that can completely alter your fighting style. While Shrine and Blood Manipulation currently dominate the meta, newer additions like Sky Manipulation may shake up the balance in the near future.
