Ye Guild Clerk! is a short, cozy interactive narrative where you assign quests, pay adventurers, and decide who gets which item or reward. Behind that cute setup is a hidden relationship system: your choices can earn hearts with each adventurer, or leave them hurt and disappointed.
Ye Guild Clerk Hearts Guide & How Hearts Work
This Ye Guild Clerk Beginner Guide walks you through a full all-hearts run in one playthrough, covering:
General rules that keep most characters happy. Exact choices for every adventurer on Day 1–5 and Where you must be careful about items like Greg’s mushroom, Lorne’s potion, and Lotest’s bag.
This is absolutely full of story and event spoilers, so use it when you are ready to optimize rather than discover.
How Hearts Work (And How You Lose Them)
Each time an adventurer comes to your counter, three main things matter:
- Quest choice – whether the quest fits their skills and what they asked for.
- Item/equipment you hand over – especially when they explicitly request or hint at something.
- Payout – underpaying hurts them, expected pay is safe, extra pay is often appreciated but not always.
Generally you earn hearts by:
- Giving them what they asked for.
- Avoiding obviously dangerous or inappropriate quests if they never requested them.
- Paying at least the listed amount, and sometimes a tiny bonus.
You lose hearts when you:
- Give dangerous quests they did not ask for.
- Completely ignore their preferences or concerns.
- Underpay, or overpay in rare cases where it implies guilt or condescension (Achilles is the big one here).
Spoiler-Free General Rules
If you ever want to improvise without the step-by-step:
- Pay expected pay by default.
- When you want to be nice, expected +1 coin is usually enough.
- Avoid handing out lethal or extreme quests to timid or unprepared adventurers unless they insist.
- If someone clearly says “I did more than you asked” or asks about extra pay, giving a little extra helps.
- Dangerous quests for people who did not ask for them are a good way to lose hearts.
With that mindset, you can often guess the “right” answer. But for a guaranteed all-hearts run, follow the day-by-day breakdown below.
Day 1 – First Impressions
Characters today: Greg, Finch, Lorne, Andy, Lotest
You are setting the tone for the entire game here. A couple of items you hand out now have ripple effects on later days.
Greg (Frog)
- When you choose his quest, pick “Collect Mushrooms”.
- This both keeps him safe and lines up with his vibe as a cute, low-risk adventurer.
- It also sets up the mushroom event that matters later.
Finch (Crow)
Finch is all about negotiation and pushing for better pay.
- Pay him the listed amount first.
- Every time he pushes you for more, give him exactly 1 extra coin.
- He asks a few times; you can safely treat it as: listed pay +1 +1 +1 +1.
This shows you respect his bargaining without going wild. He appreciates that you meet him halfway instead of stonewalling or overcompensating.
Lorne (Tall guy with packages)
Today’s important note:
- Neither package is correct.
- Choose the dialogue option that recognises this, rather than forcing a wrong delivery.
The game is checking whether you are willing to say “no” when something is off instead of just pushing work through.
Andy (Dog adventurer)
Andy is enthusiastic and brave.
- Give him the “Slay the Dragon” quest.
He is one of the few early adventurers actually suited for a big heroic challenge, and the game rewards you for recognizing that.
Lotest (Bean/grain guy)
Critical flag for later:
- When asked, give Lotest the bag of grains/beans, not something else.
This choice determines whether you can resolve Josie’s situation properly later on. Think of it as setting up a future good deed.
Day 2 – Follow-Through And First Consequences
Characters today: Maggie, Lorne, Greg, Nomira
Quite a few events now depend on what you did earlier.
Maggie (Mouse baker / goblin-hunter)
You will see two possible quests for her. For hearts:
- Either quest can work, but the emotional outcome differs.
- If you gave her “Goblins”: she comes back happy tomorrow.
- If you gave “Deliver Baked Goods”: she comes back upset tomorrow and you will need to handle pay carefully then.
If you are strictly following this guide, you can pick either, as long as you follow the Day 3 instructions to stabilize her heart.
Lorne (Yarn situation)
Today you have a chance to help Lorne properly.
- Give him the yarn.
This shows you actually listened to his delivery and personal needs, and helps recover from the awkward package situation of Day 1.
Greg (Frog returns)
He comes back from his mushroom quest.
- You can pay expected pay to keep him content.
- If you give him at least three coins, he gives you a gift mushroom.
That mushroom is important:
- At the start of the next day, you can choose to buy a pot for it.
- If you do not buy the pot and let it remain “un-potted,” it becomes useful for someone else later (Zeke).
For an all-hearts run, the most flexible option is to keep it unpotted, so you can help Zeke on Day 5.
Nomira (Mage)
This is a key logic puzzle:
- The quests available for her and the other mage-type character will be swapped.
- You want both of them to succeed.
- To do that, for Nomira specifically, choose “Terminate Golem”.
Also:
- Give her the divine staff when that choice appears.
She is capable, and matching her with the right quest and staff seals her success and your heart with her.
Day 3 – Cleaning Up Emotional Messes
Characters today: Maggie, Vanelle, Ishizu, Jolene
Maggie (Outcome from Day 2)
- If you gave her “Goblins” yesterday: she returns happy, and you can just pay expected amount.
- If you gave her “Deliver Baked Goods” and she returns upset:
- Still pay the expected amount, not less.
- You are acknowledging her effort and not punishing her for how things went.
Both paths can still lead to a heart as long as you are fair with her reward.
Vanelle (Mandrake)
Vanelle needs something tricky but fitting her capabilities.
- Give her the “Mandrake” quest.
She is cut out for this kind of eerie plant-related challenge and appreciates you recognizing her competence.
Ishizu (Potion / herb choice)
Today you choose which herb to give.
- Hand Ishizu the fiery herb.
That aligns with her needs and avoids dangerous mismatches.
Jolene (Duck)
She is a bit of a handful, but today is straightforward:
- Assign her the “Fetch Apples” quest.
This keeps her safe and gives her a satisfying little adventure instead of something more reckless.
Day 4 – Payout Day And Long-Term Threads
Characters today: Vanelle, Kalin, Lotest, Achilles
A few quests from earlier are finally resolved.
Vanelle, Kalin, Lotest
When they come to redeem their quests:
- Pay all three of them the expected amount.
That is enough to earn or keep their hearts.
- With Lotest, paying extra is optional.
- If you want to see some fun dialogue, you can give him a little extra.
- It does not break your all-hearts run either way, as long as you are not bizarrely stingy.
Important note:
- If you did not give Lotest the bag of grains/beans back on Day 1, you will not get the later opportunity to properly pass on Josie’s gold bag.
- Following this guide, you have already done that correctly, so you are safe.
Achilles
Achilles is the one character where overpaying can be bad, depending on the quest outcome.
Today:
- Give him the Lucky Coin. This matters later.
- For his quest choice, either quest is acceptable here; hearts depend more on how you treat him on Day 5.
What you are doing today is setting up his story and your relationship for the final evaluation.
Day 5 – Final Decisions And All Hearts Cleanup
Characters today: Zeke, Jolene, Tahmas, Achilles, Nomira, Andy
This is the critical day where all the setup pays off.
Zeke
Zeke can be helped in several ways, but one is clearly best if you saved Greg’s gift correctly.
- If you received the mushroom from Greg and did not put it in a pot, you can now give it to Zeke. Do that.
- You can also safely give him the raspberries, which he appreciates.
- For a full-hearts run, do not give him Lorne’s potion. That leads to bad outcomes.
Giving him the free, strange mushroom is the most important choice for his heart.
Jolene
Jolene cares a lot about how valued she feels.
- Pay her at least 3 coins.
- Expected pay + a small extra is perfect.
Too little makes her feel dismissed; too much is not required, but a tiny bonus goes a long way.
Tahmas
Tahmas appreciates generosity but does not need a big show.
- Pay him the expected amount + at least 1 extra coin.
That small bump is enough to secure his heart.
Achilles (Final Resolution)
This is one of the trickier checks in the game.
- If you previously chose Lindenburrow as the quest location:
- Everything is fine. Pay expected or a little extra.
- Either is safe for hearts; extra here looks like acknowledgement, not guilt.
- If you previously chose Heldom Dam:
- This path is more precarious for him.
- Do not pay extra. Pay exactly the expected amount.
On the Heldom Dam route, paying extra can come across as suspicious or as if you are trying to compensate for something more serious, which harms your relationship.
Nomira
Your earlier choices already set her story up correctly.
- Here, simply pay expected or slightly extra, and you will maintain her heart.
She is more sensitive to being given the wrong quest or staff earlier than to small changes in pay now, and you already handled those correctly.
Andy
Andy is straightforward on the final day.
- Pay expected or expected +1.
You treated him as a real hero with the dragon quest earlier, so as long as you are fair now, he leaves happy.
Wrap-Up – Quick Checklist For An All-Hearts Run
If you want a lightning recap for a fresh run, here is the bare minimum to remember:
Day 1
Greg: Collect Mushrooms.
Finch: listed pay +1 coin each time he asks.
Lorne: acknowledge that neither package is correct.
Andy: Slay the Dragon.
Lotest: give him the grains/beans bag.
Day 2
Maggie: either quest, but remember how you treat her tomorrow.
Lorne: give him yarn.
Greg: pay fairly; if possible give at least 3 coins to get the mushroom gift. Do not pot it.
Nomira: Terminate Golem + divine staff.
Day 3
Maggie: if sad, pay expected; if happy, also pay expected.
Vanelle: Mandrake quest.
Ishizu: fiery herb.
Jolene: Fetch Apples.
Day 4
Pay Vanelle, Kalin, Lotest expected pay.
Achilles: give Lucky Coin; either quest.
Day 5
Zeke: give Greg’s unpotted mushroom, raspberries if you want, never Lorne’s potion.
Jolene: at least 3 coins.
Tahmas: expected +1 coin minimum.
Achilles:
Lindenburrow route → expected or extra.
Heldom Dam route → expected only, no extra.
Nomira: expected or extra.
Andy: expected or extra.
Follow that sequence and you will finish the game with every adventurer giving you their heart, plus a clean report from Josie at the end.
