Phasmophobia Holiday 2025 Event Guide – Winter’s Jest Tips

Winter has settled in once again, and with it comes one of Phasmophobia’s biggest seasonal events. Winter’s Jest returns for Holiday 2025, bringing Krampus back into the spotlight with new twists, rotating maps, and community-driven rewards. This guide breaks down everything you need to know, from how the event works to where to find Jack-in-the-Boxes and Naughty & Nice presents across every active location.

Phasmophobia Holiday 2025 Event Guide

Winter’s Jest is a limited-time, community-focused holiday event running from December 16 to January 6. During this period, ten snow-covered maps rotate daily. Only investigations completed on these active maps contribute toward event progress.

The event is built around earning Event Points, which fill two separate progress bars:

  • Community Progress, shared by all players
  • Personal Progress, tracked individually

Completing investigations, finding special event items, and playing on higher difficulties all help push these meters forward and unlock exclusive rewards.

How Winter’s Jest Works

Each investigation during the event follows the normal Phasmophobia structure, but with additional mechanics layered on top.

To earn Event Points, you must:

  • Successfully complete the investigation without dying
  • Interact with special event objects
  • Correctly identify the ghost

The event introduces two core mechanics:

  • Jack-in-the-Boxes
  • Krampus’ Naughty & Nice Presents

Both can be found scattered across active maps and directly contribute to your Event Point total.

Active Event Maps

Only the following locations contribute to Winter’s Jest progress, and they rotate daily:

  • 6 Tanglewood Drive
  • 10 Ridgeview Court
  • 13 Willow Street
  • 42 Edgefield Road
  • Bleasdale Farmhouse
  • Camp Woodwind
  • Grafton Farmhouse
  • Maple Lodge Campsite
  • Point Hope
  • Nell’s Diner

You can replay active maps as many times as you want to farm points efficiently.

Jack-in-the-Boxes Explained

Jack-in-the-Boxes are small, reddish boxes hidden in fixed spawn locations on event maps.

When interacted with:

  • The box triggers a short, random countdown
  • It pops with a mild scare
  • The box disappears permanently

If you survive and complete the investigation, each activated box grants +2 Event Points. These points apply to both community and personal progress.

Dying before finishing the mission cancels the reward, so it’s best to trigger boxes once your setup is stable.

Krampus’ Naughty & Nice Presents

Outside the entrance of every event map, you’ll find:

  • A sack
  • A Naughty & Nice list

The list shows icons representing specific presents hidden throughout the map. Your goal is to find the correct presents and throw them into the sack.

Important rules to remember:

  • Each correct present grants +2 Event Points
  • Delivering the wrong present causes Krampus to fill the sack with coal
  • Once the sack is filled with coal, no more presents can be delivered

A reliable strategy is to:

  • Pick up the list
  • Pile all discovered presents near the entrance
  • Double-check icons before throwing everything in at once

Krampus is watching, and he does not forgive mistakes.

Event Points Breakdown

Here’s how Event Points are earned during Winter’s Jest:

  • Finding a Jack-in-the-Box: 2 points
  • Delivering a correct present: 2 points
  • Completing an optional objective: 3 points each
  • Correctly identifying the ghost: 10 points
  • Difficulty bonus: +1 point per multiplier level

For example, playing on Professional difficulty (x8) grants an additional 8 points if the ghost is identified correctly.

Higher difficulties significantly speed up personal progress, especially when combined with presents and boxes.
