When most players start Jujutsu Zero, weapons feel like an afterthought. Everyone is focused on cursed techniques, clans, and spins, so the weapon slot gets ignored. I did the same thing early on, and honestly, it’s one of the biggest mistakes beginners make.
Weapons don’t feel important at first, but once fights last longer, enemies get tankier, and PvP becomes more serious, the weapon you’re holding starts deciding who wins and who gets deleted. This guide breaks down every major weapon from a beginner’s perspective, explaining how they actually feel in real gameplay instead of just throwing stats at you.
Bottom Tier Weapons
Some weapons exist purely to get you started and nothing more. If you’re still using these after the early game, you’re making things harder for yourself.
Training Sword
This is the first weapon almost everyone touches, and it immediately shows its limits. The swings feel weak, enemies take too long to die, and PvP with it is painful. It’s not completely unusable, but it teaches you one thing very clearly: you need to upgrade fast. Treat this as a tutorial weapon and move on without hesitation.
Basic Knife
The knife falls into the same category as the training sword, except it somehow feels even less exciting. The damage is low, there’s no satisfying impact, and it doesn’t scale well at all. It exists purely so you can replace it with something better.
Wooden Staff
This weapon feels like it’s poking enemies rather than hurting them. Swings lack impact, damage is forgettable, and nothing about it stands out. It’s fine for a few early fights, but there’s no reason to stick with it longer than necessary.
Mid Tier Weapons
These weapons can work, especially in PvE or specific builds, but they aren’t universal picks.
Jujutsu Blade
This weapon surprised me more than I expected. It doesn’t do anything flashy, but it’s consistent, easy to upgrade, and reliable. For early to mid game, it performs well in both PvE and PvP without requiring a specific playstyle. If you want a safe stepping-stone weapon before chasing legendaries, this is a solid choice.
Cursed Hammer
The hammer hits hard, but it’s slow. Every swing feels heavy, which can be satisfying in PvE but risky in PvP. If your timing is good, it can work, but faster opponents will punish missed swings instantly. Definitely usable, but not beginner-friendly.
Spirit Axe
This weapon feels similar to the hammer but slightly more flexible. Big hits, slower pace, and strong damage when it connects. It rewards patience and positioning, but if you prefer fast combat, it may feel awkward. Still a respectable mid-tier option.
Cursed Bow
The bow plays a completely different game. Range control is its biggest strength, especially in PvE where you can safely chip enemies down. In PvP, it heavily depends on positioning and awareness. Not broken, but surprisingly fun if you like spacing and controlled fights.
High Tier Weapons
These weapons consistently perform well and feel good to use in most situations.
Cursed Katana
This is one of the most comfortable weapons in the game. It’s fast, smooth, and fits almost any build without feeling awkward. PvE feels clean, PvP feels fair, and it’s not overly difficult to obtain compared to top-end legendaries. If someone asks me for a weapon recommendation without knowing their build, this is usually my answer.
Black Flashblade
This weapon is pure fun. When Black Flash procs, you feel it. Crits hit hard, effects are satisfying, and physical builds especially benefit from it. Every successful hit feels rewarding, and it’s one of those weapons that genuinely makes combat more enjoyable rather than just stronger.
Meta Tier Weapons
These weapons can completely flip fights when used correctly.
Playful Cloud
This weapon is all about raw physical power. No cursed energy reliance, just pure damage. In PvE, it demolishes bosses, and in longer fights, it stays incredibly consistent. It’s slower than some options, but the damage more than makes up for it. Legendary for a reason.
Split Soul Katana
This weapon is terrifying in the right hands. Damage is extremely high, especially against tanky enemies, and PvP kills can happen absurdly fast if you commit properly. It’s not beginner-friendly because mistakes are punished hard, but experienced players can dominate with it.
Inverted Spear of Heaven
This weapon feels illegal when you first use it. Turning off cursed techniques completely changes fights, especially against players who rely heavily on abilities. The damage is excellent, PvP feels unfair in your favor, and once you unlock it, you immediately understand why it’s considered meta. It’s rare and painful to obtain, but worth every bit of effort.
Weapons don’t matter much in the first few minutes of the game, but later on, they become a core part of your power. The right weapon can make PvP feel easier, bosses feel manageable, and overall combat feel smoother and more controlled.
If you ever get your hands on Inverted Spear of Heaven, Playful Cloud, or Split Soul Katana, you’re set for the long run. If not, Cursed Katana and Black Flashblade are excellent choices that won’t let you down.
Everything else either helps you climb early or fills niche roles. Choose based on your playstyle, not just rarity, and you’ll feel the difference immediately.
