Bladesong Keyboard Shortcuts & Controls Guide

This guide consolidates all currently known keyboard shortcuts and control tricks in Bladesong. It is written as a clean, practical reference you can keep open while forging, especially useful once builds start getting complex and precision matters.

No fluff, no guessing—everything listed here works as described.

Moves blade abilities up or down in the menu order.
    Creative Mode only.

Blending & Advanced Manipulation

These are less obvious but extremely powerful once you know them.

Right Click on orange circles
Creates blends.

Right Click on white circles within blends
Cycles blend types.

Drag a blend circle back to its origin
Removes the blend.

When bending an object, hold Shift
Constrains bending to a straight line instead of a curve.
Example: dragging quillion ends straight outward instead of arcing.

Hold Alt while placing an object
Ignores hardpoints and bend handles entirely.
Works in both Story and Creative Modes.

Hilt Menu Behavior (Important Quirk)

If an object is selected and you click a different part in the hilt menu:

  • The selection switches to the new part
  • The new part inherits the original’s scale, distortion, and material

This is extremely useful for swapping components without rebuilding details.

Commission & Forge Pro Tip

Unrelated to keybinds, but important:

You can exit a commission at any time and return to the forge hub. From there, you can:

  • Open the vendor menu
  • Visit any vendor
  • Buy materials
  • Return to the forge
  • Resume the commission exactly where you left off

There is no penalty for doing this.
