This guide started as a simple reference list, but HumanitZ’s skill system is deep enough that raw lists do not explain how choices affect long-term survival. Below is a full breakdown of every skill category, every profession, and what each talent actually does in practice, including level requirements and skill-point costs.
If you are planning a long save, co-op specialization, or just trying not to waste points early, this guide exists to prevent bad investments.
SKILL SYSTEM
HumanitZ divides character progression into two major systems:
- Skills – universal talents unlocked with skill points
- Professions – background choices that grant a passive bonus plus a unique talent tree
Skill points are limited. Most powerful talents are locked behind level requirements, meaning early mistakes delay strong late-game tools.
WEAPON SKILLS
Weapon skills are divided by weapon class, not by individual weapons. Bonuses stack if multiple talents apply.
MELEE WEAPONS
Universal Melee Bonuses
- Melee Boost – Level 1, Cost 1 SP
Increases all melee weapon damage by 5%. This applies to light, medium, heavy, blunt, and bladed weapons equally.
LIGHT WEAPONS
Light weapons focus on speed and stamina efficiency.
Light Stamina – Level 2, Cost 1 SP
Light weapons consume 10% less stamina.
Light Blunt – Level 2, Cost 2 SP
Light blunt weapons deal 10% more damage.
Light Combo Damage – Level 4, Cost 3 SP
Final hit of a light blunt combo deals 20% extra damage.
Swift Strikes – Level 4, Cost 2 SP
Light melee attack speed increased by 10%.
Light Bladed – Level 2, Cost 2 SP
Light bladed weapons deal 10% more damage.
Rogue – Level 4, Cost 4 SP
Light bladed weapons deal double damage when attacking from behind.
This tree heavily rewards positioning and stamina control. Rogue alone can completely change stealth melee viability.
MEDIUM WEAPONS
Medium weapons balance stamina cost and control.
Medium Stamina – Level 2, Cost 1 SP
Medium weapons consume 10% less stamina.
Medium Blunt – Level 2, Cost 2 SP
Medium blunt weapons deal 10% more damage.
Medium Combo Damage – Level 4, Cost 3 SP

Home Run – Level 4, Cost 2 SP
Baseball bats deal 20% more damage.
Medium Bladed – Level 2, Cost 2 SP
Medium bladed weapons deal 10% more damage.
Spartan – Level 4, Cost 3 SP

Medium weapons benefit most from sustained combat and crowd control.
HEAVY WEAPONS
Heavy weapons trade speed for efficiency per swing.
Heavy Stamina – Level 2, Cost 1 SP
Heavy weapons consume 10% less stamina.
Heavy Blunt – Level 2, Cost 2 SP
Heavy blunt weapons deal 10% more damage.
Power House – Level 4, Cost 3 SP

Heavy builds become extremely efficient once stamina reduction stacks.

Firearm builds are long-term investments due to ammo scarcity.
