Episode 5 Part 1 in Scarlet Hollow is deceptively short. You can finish a single run pretty quickly, but the sheer number of branching paths makes collecting every achievement feel like untangling a web of tiny, easily missed decisions. Most of them don’t just depend on what you do in this chapter either — they’re tied heavily to choices from earlier episodes, especially Chapters 2, 3, and 4.
Because of that, the smartest way to approach this is not to treat achievements as isolated tasks. Think of them more like “world state outcomes.” You’re basically shaping the story in advance so certain scenes can even exist.
This guide breaks everything down in a clear progression order — starting with the Forbidden Wing, then moving into town routes, and finally covering character-specific achievements.
Forbidden Wing Achievements
This is the first section of the chapter, and thankfully, it’s the least complicated. Almost everything here depends on exploration choices rather than long-term world states.
Her Ladyship’s Chamber
To unlock this, you simply need to explore Edwardine’s bedroom while investigating the Forbidden Wing.
When you reach the hallway containing multiple rooms, look for the one blocked by boxes. Entering that room immediately triggers the achievement. It’s easy to miss if you rush toward the story path instead of checking optional rooms.
Angel of Music
After progressing through the wing, you’ll eventually hear piano music.
To earn this achievement, you must follow the sound instead of ignoring it. You’ll actually get multiple chances to turn away, but you need to keep choosing to investigate.
Whether Stella joins you or not doesn’t matter for the unlock.
Ecstasy
This is tied to Wayne’s romance path.
When you meet him, choose to talk instead of reacting aggressively. Explore his dialogue, then select the flirt option when it appears. Continue encouraging him during the scene to complete the moment and unlock the achievement.
Important note: This cannot be earned if Stella accompanies you during the encounter.
I Shouldn’t…
This is basically the same scenario as Ecstasy, but with one extra requirement.
You must already be in a committed relationship with someone else before flirting with Wayne. If you meet that condition, both achievements can actually unlock in the same scene.
Town Exploration Overview
Once you leave the estate, this is where the game truly opens up — and where most achievements live.
Several big factors determine which routes you can access:
Police suspicion levels matter a lot. If you’ve made too many suspicious or destructive choices earlier in the story, the cops may show up quickly and cut your exploration short.
Tabitha and Stella’s relationships with you also dramatically affect which scenes play out.
Some character visits lock the chapter immediately after speaking with them. Tabby, for example, often ends the exploration phase.
Because of this, saving frequently before choosing who to visit is extremely important if you’re achievement hunting.
Tabby and Stella Achievements
These are some of the most complex achievements in the chapter because they depend heavily on your relationship history with both characters.
Back to Basics
To get this, you must choose to seek help from someone you trust and then pick Stella.
This only works if she isn’t already with you. If you’re romancing her or certain Chapter 4 conditions apply, this route becomes unavailable.
Toxic Yuri
This requires a very specific setup.
You need to have a strained relationship with both Tabby and Stella, and Stella must be present at the mines alongside Tabby. If you created enough tension between them, the confrontation at the end of the scene will unlock this achievement.
Worlds Apart
This is essentially the neutral ending for your relationship with Tabby.
If she generally likes you but you don’t perfectly resolve your conversation with her at the mines, you’ll reach a mutual impasse and unlock this.
Breaking Point
This one requires a very strong positive relationship with Tabby.
You need to consistently support her across earlier chapters, gather lots of evidence during the Forbidden Wing exploration, and approach the conversation carefully. The goal is to push her emotionally without being purely hostile.
If done correctly, she breaks down emotionally, unlocking the achievement.
Don’t Move
This is the opposite scenario.
You need a very negative relationship with Tabby but still maintain a decent non-romantic relationship with Stella. Taking highly accusatory dialogue during the confrontation eventually pushes Tabby to her limit.
Back to How Things Were Last Night
This achievement requires you to romance Stella while maintaining a positive relationship with Tabby.
If handled correctly, the story ends with an uneasy but peaceful truce between all three characters.
For the Greater Good
This one demands a “perfect” run with no crimes or major disasters.
You must avoid police suspicion entirely, set up the Toxic Yuri scenario, and then willingly allow Tabby and Stella to imprison you for the sake of the town.
Oscar Achievements
Oscar’s outcomes are heavily tied to how you handled the haunting storyline earlier in the game.
Roll for Sanity
You get this if Oscar is investigating the hidden seal beneath the library annex.
This requires you to resolve the ghost situation in a specific way and encourage him to pursue the mystery.
The Floorplans Are All Wrong
This is the opposite scenario.
If the ghost situation remains unresolved or Oscar avoids the seal, he focuses on research instead, unlocking this achievement when you visit him.
Determination at Last
This requires a darker world state where Rosalina is injured, the library remains haunted, and Joan survives.
Oscar will attempt a dangerous course of action, leading to the achievement.
The End of the Road
This is tied to one of Oscar’s most tragic outcomes.
If Rosalina is injured and Joan has died, Oscar prepares to leave town. Saying goodbye to him unlocks the achievement.
Reese and Joan Achievements
Most of Reese’s achievements are only possible if you romanced him and helped him escape.
Walk-in Clinic
This requires Joan to be alive and Reese to either be imprisoned or not romanced.
Simply visit the clinic after leaving the Forbidden Wing.
The Calling
If Reese escaped and you’re romancing him, speak with him about the seals and agree to follow him to unlock this.
I’ll Do What’s Best for You…
This happens if you avoid calling Tabby for help earlier and tell Reese about Tabby’s plans. He reacts violently, leading to the achievement.
Pellet
This is one of the darker achievements.
Reese must have killed his mother and later reveals what he did with the remains.
Avery Achievements
These are simple and depend only on visit order.
If you visit Avery immediately, you’ll unlock the ride-along achievement.
If you visit them later instead, you’ll encounter Winnie and unlock the alternate achievement.
Miscellaneous Achievements
Several remaining achievements are tied to unique routes rather than character relationships.
These include fleeing town, going to the police, triggering a riot during the strike, and deliberately building maximum police suspicion to get arrested quickly.
Each of these depends more on broad story decisions rather than specific dialogue choices in this chapter.
Episode 5 Part 1 is less about difficulty and more about planning. Most achievements aren’t hard to trigger once you know the requirements — the real challenge is setting up the correct world state from earlier chapters.
The best strategy is to think in terms of themed runs rather than trying to collect everything at once. Do a positive relationship run, a negative relationship run, a “perfect town” run, and a chaos run. That approach dramatically reduces replay frustration.
