Merge Tactics Season 6 Update: New Ruler, Cards, Traits

The next Merge Tactics season update is shaping up to be one of the biggest shake-ups the game has had in a long time. It’s not just a couple balance tweaks or a new unit tossed into the pool — this update changes how teams are built, how traits work, how trophies are earned, and even how you play with friends.

A lot of old staples are leaving, new mechanics are being introduced, and the upcoming ruler alone is going to push players into completely different early-round strategies.

Merge Tactics New Season Update March 2026: Ruler, Cards, Traits, and Multiplayer Changes

New Cards

Giant

The first new card coming is Giant, which costs 3 elixir and belongs to the Superstar and Titan traits.

Instead of simply tanking damage like older frontliners, Giant throws the nearest enemy away every few seconds. The damage from that throw scales based on the target’s maximum HP, which makes it especially strong against high-health units.

It’s less about soaking hits and more about disrupting enemy positioning.

Goblin Demolisher

The second new card is Goblin Demolisher, also costing 3 elixir, tied to the Goblin and Warrior traits.

He targets the lowest-HP enemy, rushes toward them, and then detonates once they fall below 50% HP, dealing splash damage. That makes him particularly dangerous for finishing weakened backline units.

Card Pool Changes

This season is also completely reshuffling the card pool.

Leaving the pool are:

Spear Goblin, Mini P.E.K.K.A., Electro Giant, Executioner, Princess, Mega Knight, Royal Ghost, and Bandit.

Replacing them are:

Knight, Archers, Giant Skeleton, Baby Dragon, along with the new Giant and Goblin Demolisher.

Even returning cards are coming back with adjusted stats and costs, so they won’t play exactly like before.

Elixir Cost Changes

Several familiar cards are getting cost adjustments.

Dark Goblin drops from 3 elixir to 2, making it much easier to include early. Royal Giant moves from 2 to 3 elixir, while both P.E.K.K.A. and Prince now cost 4 elixir instead of 3.

These changes alone will reshape early game pacing.

Trait Overhaul

This season removes six traits entirely and introduces seven new ones, with most being completely new.

The removed traits include Butterfly, Blaster, Brawler, Brutalist, Giant, and Ranger.

New traits include Tank, Marksman, Titan, Hinder, Warrior, Fire, and Dragon.

New Traits Explained

Fire

Used by Baby Dragon and Wizard.

Baby Dragon boosts hit and movement speed for nearby allies, while Wizard gains stacking bonus damage per attack, up to six stacks.

Tank

Includes Knight, Valkyrie, Giant Skeleton, and Monk.

Tanks heal rapidly when below 50% HP, restoring either 40% or 80% of their max health depending on activation level.

Hinder

Applied to Wizard and Twitch.

Each hit has a 40% chance to slow enemy attack and movement speed for 3 seconds.

Warrior

Includes Barbarian, Goblin Demolisher, Prince, and Skeleton King.

Warriors gain bonus damage and hit speed during the first 8 seconds of battle, up to 60% at full activation.

Titan

Supported by Giant and Royal Giant.

Giant reduces incoming damage for nearby allies, while Royal Giant boosts their outgoing damage.

Marksman

Used by Archers, Dart Goblin, Musketeer, and Royal Giant.

Marksman units gain +1 range and deal bonus damage to targets positioned four tiles away or more.

Dragon

Applies to Skeleton Dragon and Baby Dragon.

These units take 50% less damage while dealing 50% more damage.

New Ruler — Dagger Duchess

The upcoming ruler, Dagger Duchess, plays like a traditional ruler in that she generates 4 elixir each round plus 1 elixir when merging.

What makes her unique is the dagger mechanic.

At the start of each round, she gives you a dagger that can be equipped to one troop. The equipped unit gains:

• 150% faster attack speed for its first eight hits
• +1 attack range

The dagger can be moved between units but only one troop can hold it at a time.

Multiplayer Mode Changes

Merge Tactics is finally introducing true cooperative play.

You can now invite friends into your lobby and play in Duo, Trio, or Squad modes.

However, trophies are only earned when playing solo or in duo matches.

Trophy System Changes

The new trophy system depends on both teammates’ placements.

If both players finish first and second, each gains 30 trophies.

If both place third and fourth, both lose 30 trophies.

Mixed placements can result in zero trophy gain depending on combinations.

The system is still being tested and may change.

New Modifiers

Several new match modifiers are being added.

Equipment Valkyrie grants splash damage for a troop’s first five hits.

Merge Bonus gives an extra one-star troop each round.

Fisherman Hook pulls the farthest enemy once at round start.

Prince Lance provides a triple charge effect.

Devil Snap automatically sells the rightmost bench troop for double elixir.

Maiden Shield grants temporary damage immunity for five hits.

UI Changes

The update also refreshes the interface.

Troop levels now display directly on the battlefield, star levels show on the bench during rounds, and the old tower visuals have been removed to improve clarity.

This upcoming season 6 of Merge Tactics isn’t just adding content — it’s rewriting how Merge Tactics works. Between the trait overhaul, new ruler mechanics, multiplayer systems, and card pool rotation, almost every match strategy players rely on today is going to feel different once the update drops.
