If you’ve just jumped into EDEN: The Last Line’s Operation Last Line mode, you’ve probably already felt it — the grind is real, and mistakes are expensive. There’s no gacha safety net here. You don’t just “roll better units”… you earn them with time, effort, and honestly, a bit of patience.
EDEN The Last Line Tier List – Best Units & Characters
So instead of wasting your hard-earned enhancement cards on the wrong characters, let’s sit down and break this properly — like one player talking to another. I’ll walk you through what actually works, what falls off, and who deserves your investment if you’re serious about progressing.
S-Tier Units
These are your backbone units. If you get them, build around them. No debate.
Sarah (Energy)
Sarah is one of those rare starter units that never becomes useless. From early waves to brutal late-game bosses, she just performs.
- Massive beam attack = clears entire screens
- Strong burst damage right from the start
- Scales extremely well with enhancement cards
What makes her special is consistency. You don’t need to “wait” for her to become good — she already is. If you’re unsure where to invest early resources, Sarah is the safest bet.
Libby (Nature)
Libby is honestly insane for how early you unlock her (level 3).
- Strong AoE water damage
- Excellent crowd control
- Late-game scaling is top-tier
She doesn’t just clear enemies — she controls the battlefield. When things get overwhelming, Libby stabilizes everything. Pair her with Sarah, and you already have a deadly combo.
A-Tier Units
These units are powerful but require a bit more effort or proper setup.
Lena (Energy)
Lena is a damage machine, but unlocking her is a grind (level 19).
- High sustained damage over time
- Great for long fights and boss stages
- Boosts overall team DPS significantly
If you’re willing to grind, she pays off big time. She’s not flashy like Sarah, but her consistency is what wins you harder stages.
Shyon (Energy)
Shyon is all about chain damage and clearing waves efficiently.
- Chain lightning-style attacks
- Excellent for handling large enemy groups
- Needs specific upgrades to shine
Once built properly, she becomes one of the best wave-clear units in the game. But yeah — getting her and upgrading her is not easy.
Iris (Nature)
Iris brings something different: control and strategy.
- Ice attacks that slow enemies
- Great for relieving pressure during heavy waves
- Perfect for combo setups
She’s not just about damage — she gives you breathing room. If you like playing smart rather than just brute forcing, Iris is a must-have.
B-Tier Units
These units are fine for progression but shouldn’t be long-term investments.
Ruby (Physical)
You start with Ruby, and she’s decent early on.
- Good early-game damage
- Easy to use
But here’s the problem — she doesn’t scale. Once you unlock better units, she falls behind hard.
Kaid (Physical)
Kaid feels like an upgrade from Ruby at first.
- Stronger early-mid damage
- Cool katana shockwave attacks
But that’s it. She hits a wall in late game, especially against armored enemies.
Cirrus (Energy)
Cirrus has potential but is held back by one big issue:
- Long cooldowns
- Damage drops in dense waves
She’s okay early-mid game, but not worth long-term investment.
Himare (Physical)
Himare has a unique advantage:
- Built-in pierce (hits multiple enemies)
But unfortunately:
- Low overall damage
- Doesn’t scale into late game
She’s usable, but nothing more.
C-Tier Units
These are the traps. They might seem interesting, but they’ll cost you in the long run.
Genie
Cool concept, weak execution.
- Gravity mechanics are interesting
- Very high cooldowns
She just can’t keep up when things get intense.
Karen
Probably the easiest skip in the game.
- Bomb-based damage sounds good
- But performance is poor even when upgraded
You’ll find better damage dealers almost immediately.
Best Team
If you want a simple, effective approach:
- Core Pair: Sarah + Libby
- Add Later: Lena or Shyon
- Utility Slot: Iris
This setup gives you:
- Strong AoE damage
- Crowd control
- Late-game scaling
- Flexibility in tough stages
This game doesn’t forgive bad investments. Since you can’t rely on luck, every upgrade matters.
If you take one thing from this guide, let it be this:
- Build Sarah and Libby first
- Grind patiently for Lena and Shyon
- Avoid wasting resources on early-game fillers
Once you lock in those core units, the game honestly feels a lot more manageable — and way less frustrating.
