If you’re jumping into Myth of Empires: Throne early, you actually get a small but real advantage — not in combat, but in preparation. This isn’t one of those games that waits for you to figure things out slowly. The more you set up before servers get crowded, the smoother your start will feel.
Let’s break this down properly so you don’t waste that early window.
Myth of Empires Throne Guide Wiki – Settings, Character Creation
If you can download the game before full launch, do it.
Not because you’ll instantly become stronger… but because you get access to:
- Settings optimization
- Character creation (without pressure)
- Skill interface preview
- Idle training setup
When servers open, most players will be stuck in menus or tweaking settings. You’ll already be in-game and moving.
That head start matters more than people think.
Settings
The game throws a lot of options at you, and honestly, most of them you can ignore early on.
But one thing you should definitely disable:
- Motion Blur → OFF
It’s on by default, and it just makes everything feel messy, especially in combat or camera movement.
Beyond that:
- Keep most settings default initially
- Adjust later based on performance
- Focus on smooth gameplay over visuals early
You don’t want lag during your first resource runs or fights.
Character Creation
Character creation is decent — not insane, but flexible enough.
You get:
- Face customization
- Body options
- Hairstyles & beard variations
- Skin tone adjustments
One small warning though:
The UI layout is a bit weird, and it’s easy to accidentally skip sections.
Take a minute to:
- Double-check each tab
- Make sure you didn’t miss anything
- Lock in a look you’re comfortable with
Because even if armor covers most of your character later… you’ll still see it in menus and cutscenes.
Should You Spend a Lot of Time on Character Creation?
Short answer: not really.
Long answer:
Spend enough time so you don’t regret it later, but don’t sit there for an hour min-maxing your jawline.
Most players fall into two extremes:
- Either rushing it and hating their character later
- Or wasting too much time before even playing
Balance it.
Idle Training System
This is the most important system you unlock early… and also the most confusing.
Here’s how it actually works:
What You Can Do
- Select up to 3 skills to train
- Let them passively gain progress over time
Sounds great, right?
The Catch (Important)
- Training ONLY works while the screen is open
- If you leave the page → progress stops
- If you close the game → progress stops
So it’s not true “offline training.”
How To Use Idle Training Properly
If you want real value from it:
- Keep the training screen open
- Leave the game running
- Let it tick over time (progress updates slowly)
This makes it perfect for:
- Going to work
- Watching something
- AFK sessions
Just don’t expect huge gains instantly — it’s slow, but still free progress.
Power Save Mode
There’s a “power save” option… but right now, it doesn’t seem to do much.
At best:
- It slightly reduces resource usage
- Doesn’t change training behavior
So don’t rely on it too much.
Training Progress
Here’s something that confuses a lot of players:
- Progress ticks happen over time
- But if you leave the screen → it resets/stops
So if you:
- Start training
- Switch menus
- Come back
You may notice no progress happened.
That’s not a bug — that’s how the system currently works.
This phase of the game isn’t about grinding yet.
It’s about:
- Setting yourself up correctly
- Understanding systems early
- Avoiding beginner mistakes
If you:
- Disable the right settings
- Create your character properly
- Use idle training the right way
…you’ll start the game ahead without even touching combat.
