This desert secret is one of those little side things that’s easy to miss but honestly pretty fun once you start doing it. The whole idea is simple, you’ve got cactus parents scattered around the map, and their kids are… well, not exactly the brightest. You need to find all of them and bring them back.
There are 6 total families, and once you finish it, you’ll unlock the reward at the end. I’ll go through each one exactly how I found them.
1. The Fishing Kid (Oasis)
The first parent gives you a hint right away. Their kid wanted to feed the colony with fish… which they don’t even eat.
So naturally, you’re looking for water.
Head over to a small oasis, and you’ll find the little cactus just standing there trying to fish. There’s nothing even in the water, he’s just been staring at it for hours.
Pick him up and carry him all the way back to his parent. It’s a bit of a walk, but nothing too bad.
Once you return him, you’ll get your first reunion done.
2. The “Dominance” Kid (Marauder Camp)
Next parent is on the northern shoreline.
This one’s kid has clearly been watching too many movies and decided he’s going to “assert dominance” over the marauders.
You’ll find him at one of the larger marauder camps. Go for the biggest one, that’s where he is.
Important thing here, you can’t use mounts or spells while carrying him, so don’t rely on speed abilities. Just take it slow and bring him back safely.
Second reunion done.
3. The Pipe Kid (Alien Bait…)
This one’s a bit messed up.
The parent is somewhere around the map talking about how their kid is stuck on pipes… and was being used as bait for aliens. Yeah.
Anyway, head to the rocky area with pipes, and you’ll find the kid sitting up there in a little nest between rocks.
Pick them up and bring them back. The dialogue here is… yeah, it doesn’t get much better.
4. The Bone Kid (Big Bone Area)
This one is honestly hilarious.
You’ll find the parent speaking in broken sentences about bones. Something like “baby loves bones” and calling you a “planker” out of nowhere.
The hint is clear though, go where the big bones are.
Head to the large bone area, and you’ll find the kid just hanging around skulls and bones.
Grab them and return them to the cave/grotto where the parent is.
5. The Pirate Kid (Poetry Escape)
On the opposite side of the map near a small pyramid, you’ll find another parent.
Apparently, their kid ran away because the parent keeps talking in poems.
Head to the northern side of the map, and you’ll find the kid there.
Pick them up and bring them back. Straightforward one.
6. The Rock Lover (Pyramid)
Last one.
This parent mentions that both of them like tasting rocks, but the kid ran off with the “premium stuff.”
Head over to a pyramid, and you’ll find the kid on top just enjoying his rock like it’s the best thing ever.
Pick him up and bring him back. The parent is happy… mostly because now it’s his turn to try the good rocks.
Reward
Once you’ve reunited all six families, the secret is complete and you unlock:
- Cactus Day Joker
This lets enemies spawn a minion when you kill them.
None of these are especially hard, but carrying the kids around without mounts or abilities can get a bit annoying, so just plan your routes a little.
Other than that, it’s a pretty fun little side activity with some unexpectedly funny dialogue along the way.
