Trying to unlock every achievement in Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library! takes much more effort than most players expect. At first the game feels relaxing since you are mainly sorting books and cleaning shelves, but once you start going for full completion, you quickly realize how much planning and patience is actually required.
Some achievements unlock naturally during progression, while others require very specific challenges like avoiding magic entirely or intentionally ruining the whole library layout. A few achievements can also take several hours if you do not optimize your runs properly.
This guide explains every achievement individually along with the easiest methods to unlock them.
Librarian Tidy Up the Arcane Library Full Achievement Guide
These achievements are tied directly to your overall progress organizing the library.
The First Steps of Organizing
Complete your very first shelf row.
This achievement unlocks almost immediately after learning the basic sorting system. Simply place all books in the correct order on one shelf row and the achievement will appear automatically.
Intermediate Librarian
Successfully organize 50 shelf rows.
By the time you unlock this achievement, you should already understand the basic library layout and how book categories work. Most players earn this naturally during their first normal playthrough.
Veteran Librarian
Complete 200 shelf rows.
This achievement takes noticeably longer because the library becomes much larger and more difficult to manage. At this stage, efficient movement and better carrying upgrades become extremely important.
The Grand Librarian
Complete 400 shelf rows.
This is one of the main long-term progression achievements in the game. Reaching 400 completed rows requires a major time investment and likely means you have organized most of the library already.
Major Magic Achievements
Major Magic abilities unlock through leveling up as you complete shelves. You can spend your points through the magic menu by pressing Tab.
These spells are designed to make organization much faster later in the game.
Novice Mage
Unlock your first Major Magic spell.
As soon as you gain your first level and purchase a spell upgrade, this achievement unlocks. Most players get this very early without needing any special preparation.
Sage of the Library
Unlock every available Major Magic spell.
To earn this achievement, you must continue leveling up and eventually purchase every spell in the Major Magic menu. This takes time because some abilities cost multiple points.
The Archmage
Completely max out every Major Magic spell.
This achievement requires fully upgrading every spell to its maximum level. Since leveling slows down later in the game, expect this achievement to take a significant amount of grinding.
Minor Magic Achievements
Minor Magic works differently from Major Magic because these upgrades are hidden throughout the library instead of unlocked through levels.
To access the rewards, you must first locate colored keys and use them on the locked chests near the second floor entrance.
Life Hack Wizard
Unlock every Minor Magic ability.
To complete this achievement, you must collect all four hidden keys and unlock every Minor Magic chest. Once all upgrades are obtained, the achievement unlocks automatically.
All Minor Magic Key Locations
Red Key
The red key is hidden underneath the university crest hanging on the back wall of the library.
Unlock Reward:
- Jump ability
This is one of the most useful early upgrades because it allows easier movement around shelves and hidden areas.
Yellow Key
The yellow key can be found inside the vase sitting near the left staircase banister.
Unlock Reward:
- Increased carrying capacity
This upgrade allows you to carry more books at once, saving a huge amount of travel time later.
Green Key
The green key is buried underneath books sitting on the bench near the first table.
Unlock Reward:
- Running ability
This is arguably the most important movement upgrade in the entire game because it dramatically speeds up shelf routing.
Blue Key
The blue key is hidden on top of the shelves above sections 2O and 2P.
Unlock Reward:
- Additional carrying capacity increase
Reaching this key becomes much easier after unlocking jumping.
Hidden and Challenge Achievements
These achievements require special conditions instead of normal progression.
Overtime Avoider
Use your ultimate skill inside the Special Stage.
After completing the game once, a new Special Stage mode becomes available on the main menu. Enter this mode and wait until your ultimate ability is charged. Press Z to instantly clear the books and unlock the achievement.
This achievement mostly requires patience because the process takes around ten minutes before the ultimate becomes available.
You Are Fired!
Completely fill the library incorrectly without finishing a single shelf row.
For this achievement, your goal is to intentionally fail. Place books randomly everywhere without completing any proper shelf rows. Once every shelf space is filled incorrectly, leave the library and the achievement will unlock.
This is one of the funniest achievements in the game because the entire objective is basically becoming the worst librarian possible.
Anti-Magic Master
Complete the entire game without using Major Magic.
You are still allowed to use Minor Magic abilities like:
- Running
- Jumping
- Carrying upgrades
However, you cannot activate any Major Magic spells during the entire playthrough.
This achievement takes a very long time because organizing thousands of books manually becomes extremely repetitive without automation spells.
Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library! hides a surprisingly difficult completion grind underneath its calm atmosphere. While the game starts off relaxing, the achievement list slowly pushes players into speedrunning, optimization, puzzle solving, and extremely long organization sessions.
Achievements like The Grand Librarian mainly test patience, while others like Efficiency Librarian and Anti-Magic Master demand careful planning and consistency from beginning to end.
Still, there is something satisfying about slowly transforming the chaotic library into a perfectly organized system while unlocking everything along the way.
