The latest Sakura Stand update is one of those patches that completely changes what players have to grind for. Instead of just dropping a couple of abilities and calling it a day, this update adds two brand-new abilities, a fresh dungeon, new bosses, a hidden location, several redeem codes, and even reworks one of the game’s biggest mechanics.
If you’ve just logged in after the update, there are quite a few things worth checking out before you jump into PvP or start farming. I spent some time going through the patch notes, and here’s everything that actually matters, along with what it means for regular players.
Sakura Stand Naoya & Choso Update Guide – Abilities, Codes
The developers released four new codes alongside the update.
- ChosoBubu
- NaoyaDoopie
- ThisCodeGiveRokakaka
- BesureToWearVansCheckerboard
Important Redemption Tip
Three of these codes require something unusual.
Before redeeming ChosoBubu, NaoyaDoopie, and BesureToWearVansCheckerboard, press the Spacebar once after typing the code. These codes include a blank space at the end, and they won’t work correctly without it.
Thankfully, ThisCodeGiveRokakaka doesn’t require the extra space.
Two Brand-New Abilities
The biggest highlight of this update is the addition of two powerful abilities inspired by Jujutsu Kaisen.
Choso
Choso joins Sakura Stand with several unique mechanics that make him stand out from many existing abilities.
One of the coolest features is his Y move, which has a special stun mechanic. Instead of applying a normal stun every time, it can actually increase the overall stun duration regardless of how short previous stuns were. This gives Choso much stronger combo potential than many players might expect.
His Awakening also introduces additional mechanics.
- Awakening G has a follow-up attack after pressing H.
- Awakening H deals percentage-based damage, making it useful even against high-health opponents.
Because percentage damage scales with enemy HP, Choso should remain effective against tougher bosses as well as tankier PvP builds.
Naoya
Naoya is another major addition, bringing an aggressive and technical fighting style.
His G ability isn’t just one move—it actually has three different variants.
- Tap version
- Hold version
- Follow-up after Y
Learning when to use each variation will likely separate experienced Naoya players from beginners.
Naoya also has one of the more interesting Awakening methods in Sakura Stand.
Instead of activating it manually, you’ll unlock his Awakening if you’re interrupted while performing the Hold version of G while your health is low. It’s a unique mechanic that rewards clutch situations rather than simple meter management.
New Titles
Players can now unlock three additional titles.
- Head of Zen’in Clan
- Blood Manipulator
- Zen’in Clan Member
If you enjoy collecting cosmetics and achievements, these are another set of goals to work toward while exploring the new content.
New Dungeon
A brand-new dungeon has been added.
The developers haven’t overloaded the patch notes with details, which means players will have to discover many mechanics for themselves. Expect new enemy encounters, fresh rewards, and likely future farming routes once the community figures out the optimal strategy.
If you’re someone who enjoys PvE progression, this will probably become one of your main activities after finishing the new quests.
Two New Bosses
The update also introduces two additional bosses.
Like the dungeon, much of the boss experience is meant to be discovered naturally, but both are connected with the update’s new progression systems and item farming.
If you’re planning on unlocking everything this patch offers, expect to fight these bosses multiple times.
Kamo’s Hideout
There’s also an entirely new location called Kamo’s Hideout.
Besides expanding the world, this area serves as the home for new NPCs and progression tied to Choso and the latest content. It’s definitely worth visiting even if you’re only interested in exploring everything the update added.
New NPCs and Rare Spawns
The update introduces several new world events that players should keep an eye on.
Kamo Remnant
The Kamo Remnant appears every 1 hour and 30 minutes.
If you’re hunting exclusive drops, keeping track of this timer will save you a lot of wasted waiting.
Death Painting Drop
The Death Painting item has a 25% drop chance from defeating the Kamo Remnant.
That’s a decent drop rate, but don’t expect to get it immediately. You may need several successful runs before it finally appears.
John Zen’in Spawn
Another interesting addition is John Zen’in.
Whenever Bandits or Thugs would normally spawn, there’s now a 50% chance they’ll be replaced by John Zen’in instead.
That makes ordinary farming routes a little less predictable while giving players another unique encounter during exploration.
Domain Expansion Rework
One of the biggest gameplay changes isn’t actually tied to a new character.
The developers have begun reworking the Domain Expansion system.
Right now, this only affects Naoya, and the developers specifically mention that it’s still heavily work in progress.
That means players should expect occasional bugs or balance adjustments over the next few updates as the system continues evolving.
Balance Changes
A handful of existing abilities also received improvements.
Index Nursefather
Furioso Replica has been buffed.
- Increased range
- Increased damage
Both changes should make landing the move more reliable while rewarding successful hits with stronger damage.
Fist of Chaos
This ability received a few cosmetic improvements.
- Added a new quote.
- Updated pose music with the version Kuzma previously requested.
These changes don’t affect gameplay but give the ability a fresher presentation.
Lei Heng
Lei Heng’s Shin visual has been updated to better match Index Nursefather’s effects, creating a more consistent appearance across related abilities.
Itadori Yuji
Yuji also received additional voice quotes, giving the character more personality during combat.
Anubis Requiem Is Now Unobtainable
One important progression change is that Anubis Requiem can no longer be obtained.
If you already own it, you’re fine.
If you were planning to unlock it later, that opportunity has officially been removed.
Interface Improvements
The game’s interface has also been cleaned up.
The top status bar has been redesigned into a much more compact layout, giving players additional screen space without removing useful information.
It’s a small change, but it makes the overall HUD feel cleaner.
Bug Fixes
As expected, the update includes a long list of fixes alongside the new content.
Some of the more notable fixes include:
- Stop Sign Spoon now correctly uses its unique pose.
- Lei Heng memory leak issues have been fixed.
- Sancho’s T Variant no longer bugs if interrupted.
- MKVOL Taped Shut Y no longer breaks when hit.
- X!Chara’s Y no longer softlocks players.
- Alucard no longer becomes invisible after dashing as Y ends.
- Shadow The World Mita now properly has teleport dash.
- STWRGB and Okarun poses were also fixed after release.
The developers also mention numerous additional bug fixes behind the scenes that weren’t individually listed.
Overall, this feels like one of Sakura Stand’s more substantial updates. Choso and Naoya both introduce unique mechanics instead of simply adding another set of attacks, while the new dungeon, bosses, Kamo’s Hideout, and world events give players plenty of fresh content to explore.
The new redeem codes are definitely worth claiming before they expire, and if you’re planning to grind the latest content, keep an eye on the Kamo Remnant timer since it’s currently the only source of the Death Painting drop.
With the Domain Expansion system also beginning its rework, this update lays the groundwork for even bigger gameplay changes in future patches.
