Mistfall Hunter Maps Guide – Hallowgrove, Brandrgarde

Choosing the right map in Mistfall Hunter is just as important as choosing the right class or equipment. Every map has different mechanics, enemy difficulty, loot quality, and entry requirements. Some are designed to help new players learn the game, while others are built for experienced Gyldhunters looking for high-risk, high-reward runs.

This guide explains every currently available map, including their difficulty, entry requirements, and what you should expect before entering.

Mistfall Hunter Maps Guide – Hallowgrove, Brandrgarde

At launch, Mistfall Hunter features two main maps:

  • Hallowgrove
  • Brandrgarde

Each map also has different corruption levels or game modes, increasing both the challenge and potential rewards.

Hallowgrove

Hallowgrove is the first map most players should experience. It offers a much more forgiving environment than later areas and is ideal for learning the game’s combat, exploration, and extraction mechanics.

One unique feature of Hallowgrove is its open exploration style. Unlike some other maps, you won’t constantly be pressured by a shrinking danger zone, allowing you to move at your own pace while learning the layout.

The forest is filled with ruined structures, woodland paths, hidden loot locations, and the massive Divine Anchor that acts as one of the central landmarks.

Although the area feels peaceful compared to later maps, don’t mistake that for being completely safe. Monsters still roam the forest, and enemy players can appear when you least expect it.

If you’re completely new to Mistfall Hunter, this should be your primary farming location.

Hallowgrove Normal

Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

Hallowgrove Normal is designed as the beginner-friendly version of the map.

Since corruption is relatively low, most enemies remain manageable, making it much easier to learn combat mechanics and survive your first few extraction attempts.

Unlike high-level regions, this version still retains much of its natural environment. The Gyldenmist has not completely overtaken the forest, allowing players to freely explore while searching for treasure and objectives.

Extraction is generally easier here, making it an excellent place to earn early equipment without constantly risking expensive gear.

Entry Requirements

  • Corruption Level: Normal
  • Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
  • Equipment Quality: Up to Excellent
  • Allowed Combat Bags: Novice, Advanced, Pro
  • Revivals: 1

After spending time on this map, it’s easy to see why it’s recommended for new players. The slower pace gives you room to experiment with different weapons, learn enemy attack patterns, and understand extraction routes before moving into more dangerous content.

Even experienced players often return here to complete quick farming runs or test new builds because the overall risk is much lower than later maps.

Hallowgrove Chaos

Difficulty: ★★★★☆

Chaos difficulty completely changes the atmosphere of Hallowgrove.

The once peaceful forest has been consumed by uncontrolled souls and the spreading Gyldenmist. Areas that were previously safe have become dangerous, while monsters are significantly stronger and far more aggressive.

This version of the map demands far more preparation before entering. Better equipment, stronger builds, and good teamwork become much more important if you want to survive.

Because of the increased difficulty, the potential rewards are also much better.

Entry Requirements

  • Corruption Level: Chaos
  • Difficulty: ★★★★☆
  • Minimum Equipment Value: 1,000
  • Maximum Equipment Quality: Legendary
  • Allowed Combat Bags: Advanced, Pro, Elite
  • Revivals: 1

The biggest difference isn’t simply stronger monsters.

The entire atmosphere becomes far more hostile. You’ll encounter more dangerous enemies, tougher fights, and greater pressure throughout the run. Every encounter carries a much higher chance of failure, especially if you’re undergeared or unfamiliar with the map.

Because of this, it’s usually better to master Hallowgrove Normal before attempting Chaos mode.

Brandrgarde

Brandrgarde offers a very different experience from Hallowgrove.

Instead of exploring a large forest, you’ll fight through the remains of an ancient military fortress located in the frozen northern regions.

The fortress is packed with narrow corridors, defensive structures, hidden pathways, and valuable loot. Its enclosed design naturally creates more frequent player encounters compared to the open forests of Hallowgrove.

Another major difference is the return of the shrinking Gyldenmist.

Unlike Hallowgrove’s relaxed exploration, Brandrgarde constantly pushes players toward conflict as the safe area gradually becomes smaller.

Because of this mechanic, matches tend to be faster, more intense, and much more PvP-focused.

Brandrgarde Normal

Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

Although this is considered the Normal version of Brandrgarde, don’t expect it to feel as relaxed as Hallowgrove.

The shrinking Gyldenmist forces players to keep moving, creating more opportunities for battles against both monsters and other Gyldhunters.

Fortunately, monster strength remains relatively manageable, allowing newer players to gradually adapt to the faster pace without immediately facing the toughest enemies.

Extraction is still fairly achievable, provided you manage your positioning and avoid unnecessary fights.

Entry Requirements

  • Corruption Level: Normal
  • Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
  • Minimum Equipment Value: 300
  • Maximum Equipment Quality: Epic
  • Allowed Combat Bags: Novice, Advanced, Pro, Elite
  • Revivals: 1

Brandrgarde Gameplay

One thing that immediately stands out is how different the pacing feels compared to Hallowgrove.

The fortress naturally funnels players into shared pathways, making surprise encounters much more common. Since the Gyldenmist continues to close in over time, camping in one location is rarely a good strategy.

Instead, you’ll need to balance looting with staying ahead of the shrinking play area, creating a much more action-packed experience from start to finish.

Brandrgarde Cataclysm

Currently, very little information is available regarding Brandrgarde Cataclysm.

The mode has been listed, but official details regarding its difficulty, requirements, mechanics, and rewards are still unavailable.

Based on the naming alone, it’s expected to be a much more challenging version of Brandrgarde, but until additional information is released, players should treat it as an upcoming endgame activity.

We’ll update this section as soon as more details become available.

Hallowgrove vs Brandrgarde

Although both maps support extraction-based gameplay, they offer very different experiences.

Feature Hallowgrove Brandrgarde
Environment Large mystical forest Ancient military fortress
Exploration Open and relaxed Narrow and structured
Shrinking Zone No traditional shrinking zone Gyldenmist closes over time
PvP Frequency Moderate High
Beginner Friendly Excellent Moderate
Navigation Easier More complex
Combat Pace Slower Faster

Players who enjoy exploring and taking fights on their own terms will likely prefer Hallowgrove, while those looking for constant action and more frequent PvP encounters will feel right at home in Brandrgarde.
