Beast of Reincarnation Strongbox Codes and Key Locations

You’ll find plenty of Strongboxes while exploring Beast of Reincarnation, but some of the best ones aren’t as simple as walking up and opening them. Certain Strongboxes require a numeric code, directional combination, or special key, and the game doesn’t always make it obvious where you’re supposed to get that information.

A few are even worse because the Strongbox itself is hidden underground or below the path you’re currently exploring.

The good news is that most solutions follow a pattern. Codes are often obtained after defeating nearby Elite enemies, while key-locked areas may require story progression.

If you’ve already found the box and just want the combination, here’s the quick version first.

Beast of Reincarnation Strongbox Codes and Key Locations – All Codes, Keys and Rewards

Strongbox Code / Requirement Main Reward
Disposal Site 04180 772 Amber + materials
Cliffside Village 08110 452 Amber + materials
Abandoned Village Red Key 558 Amber + Ancient Book
Subway Platform Down, Down, Left, Right, Up Facility Module + materials
Subway None 507 Amber + materials
Ruins Slope: Approach Right, Left, Left, Down, Up 501 Amber + materials
Rusted Bridge 07230 Lv. 2 Florescent Recovery Spirit Stone
Subcity of Flowers: Interior 01498 1,083 Amber + materials

If you’re standing in front of one of these already, you can simply use the combination above.

Otherwise, let’s go through where each Strongbox is located.

Ogouchi Buffer Zone Strongbox Codes and Keys

Three notable locked Strongboxes can be found around the Ogouchi Buffer Zone:

  • Disposal Site
  • Cliffside Village
  • Abandoned Village

The first two use numerical codes obtained from Elite encounters. The Abandoned Village is different because you’ll need the Red Key from Chapter 1 story progression.

Disposal Site Strongbox Code – 04180

Code: 04180

Rewards:

  • 772 Amber
  • 1 Electronic Brain
  • 1 Spirit Stone Ore (S)
  • 2 Torch

The Disposal Site is located northeast of the Abandoned Village.

You’ll know you’re in the right place when you reach a large, partially destroyed area packed with enemies.

There’s an Elite enemy here that you need to defeat.

Once the Elite is down, you’ll receive a voice transmission containing the Strongbox combination:

04180

Now you need to find the box itself.

Look toward the southeastern corner of the Disposal Site and find the wall covered in large, colorful graffiti.

There’s an entrance to an underground tunnel around here.

Head inside.

Follow the underground route and you’ll eventually reach the Strongbox. Interact with it and enter 04180 to claim everything inside.

This is one of those boxes that’s easy to miss even after receiving the code because your instinct is to search around the surface. If you can’t find it, remember: the Strongbox is underground.

Cliffside Village Strongbox Code – 08110

Code: 08110

Rewards:

  • 452 Amber
  • 2 Recovery Tonic (S)
  • 1 Ancient Book (Common)
  • 1 Decayed Charm I
  • 1 Memory Chip

Head toward the northwestern corner of Cliffside Village in the Ogouchi Buffer Zone.

You’ll eventually find a large tent containing a locked Strongbox.

You don’t need to search the other side of the map for its combination.

The enemy carrying the information is nearby.

Look around outside the tent for an Elite enemy.

Defeat it and you’ll receive the code:

08110

Return to the large tent and enter the combination into the Strongbox.

Considering you get an Ancient Book, Memory Chip, recovery items and Amber, it’s absolutely worth opening while you’re already exploring Cliffside Village.

Abandoned Village Strongbox – Red Key Location

Requirement: Red Key

Rewards:

  • 558 Amber
  • 1 Ancient Book (Common)

You can discover this locked area much earlier than you can actually open it.

The Abandoned Village is one of the first major points of interest you’ll encounter in the Ogouchi Buffer Zone.

Explore the main building and you’ll find a locked door.

Unlike the previous Strongboxes, there’s no five-digit combination hidden nearby.

You need the Red Key.

And unfortunately, you can’t immediately get it.

How to Get the Red Key

Continue progressing through Chapter 1: Seedling until you reach the objective:

Path to the Sealed Lair

This happens after you’ve progressed through the story around Subcity 03 and are trying to reach the Nushi’s lair.

You’ll discover that the route is sealed and requires three keys.

During this sequence, speak with the Retired Gatekeeper.

The Red Key is given to you automatically as part of the main story.

So if you found the Abandoned Village door early and spent 20 minutes searching nearby buildings for a key, you can stop looking. You haven’t missed it.

You simply need to progress further.

Where to Use the Red Key in Abandoned Village

Once you’ve received the Red Key, return to the Abandoned Village.

Go back to the main building and interact with the previously locked door.

Use the Red Key to open it.

Head inside and continue upstairs.

You’ll find the Strongbox there.

Open it to receive 558 Amber and an Ancient Book (Common).

The Red Key is also important for Chapter 1 progression alongside the Blue and Yellow Keys, so don’t confuse this optional return trip with its main story purpose.

Ancient Civilization Zone Strongbox Codes

The Ancient Civilization Zone contains several Strongboxes worth grabbing.

The important ones covered here are:

Subway Platform Strongbox
Subway Strongbox
Ruins Slope: Approach Strongbox

Two use directional combinations rather than ordinary numerical passwords.

Subway Platform Strongbox Code

Combination: Down, Down, Left, Right, Up

Rewards:

  • 2 Memory Chips
  • 1 Ancient Book (Common)
  • 1 Spirit Stone Ore (S)
  • 1 Facility Module

This is one of the Strongboxes I’d recommend going out of your way to open because it contains a Facility Module.

Progress through the subway until you reach its far end and find the newly activated elevator.

Don’t immediately take the elevator.

Just before it, look for a pathway leading left toward another platform.

Cross over.

You’ll find a locked Strongbox positioned next to a flame torch.

You may actually have noticed this Strongbox’s map icon earlier when activating the Raging River Camp.

Interact with the box.

Instead of entering numbers, you’ll need to complete a directional sequence within the time limit.

Enter:

Down → Down → Left → Right → Up

Do it quickly enough and the Strongbox will open.

The Facility Module alone makes this one particularly useful, especially if you’re working on expanding the facilities aboard the Cleanse Walker.

Subway Strongbox Location

Code: None

Rewards:

  • 2 Spirit Stone Ore (S)
  • 507 Amber
  • 1 Antidote
  • 1 Ancient Book (Common)

Not every difficult Strongbox actually has a puzzle.

This particular box is tricky because of where it’s located, not because you need a combination.

Explore the longer, industrial section of the subway—the area containing the submerged train carts.

Continue all the way toward the end until you reach the elevator that takes you back toward the surface.

Don’t leave yet.

From the elevator, move left of the elevator switch.

Jump onto the nearby small ledge and look over the railing.

You should be able to spot a metal platform in the distance.

The Strongbox is sitting on top of it.

You can attempt to reach the platform by traversing across the nearby train carts, but there’s a much cleaner option.

Use Emma’s hair to create a path across.

Reach the platform and simply open the Strongbox. There’s no code required.

Ruins Slope: Approach Strongbox Code

Combination: Right, Left, Left, Down, Up

Rewards:

  • 2 Spirit Stone Ore (S)
  • 501 Amber
  • 2 Bolt Shard
  • 1 Ancient Book (Common)

Start from the Ruins Slope: Approach Camp.

Travel east through the newly opened reservoir gate.

Continue until you encounter a creature and Golem fighting each other.

You don’t actually need to get involved in their disagreement.

Instead, look toward the wall on your right.

You should notice a series of red-lit platforms.

Use these to work your way upward until you reach the ledge above.

Once you’re up there, stay close to the wall and continue following the route forward.

Eventually, you’ll arrive near a large rusted structure.

Several enemies patrol this area, and you should notice patches of distinctive red/orange flowers around them.

Clear the enemies.

Then head up the nearby stairs.

Look for the shipping container beside the Shrine and open it.

The locked Strongbox is inside.

Interact with it and quickly enter:

Right → Left → Left → Down → Up

Successfully completing the sequence gets you the loot.

The Great Wall Terraces Strongbox Codes

The Great Wall Terraces introduces more locked Strongboxes, including a couple with very useful rewards.

The two covered here are:

Rusted Bridge Strongbox
Subcity of Flowers: Interior Strongbox

Both require numerical combinations.

Rusted Bridge Strongbox Code – 07230

Code: 07230

Reward:

1 Lv. 2 Florescent Recovery Spirit Stone

Head toward the central portion of the Rusted Bridge.

You’ll encounter two Elite enemies around this area.

You’ll need to defeat both.

Once they’re dead, you’ll receive an audio recording containing the code:

07230

Getting the combination is actually the easy part.

Finding the Strongbox is where things get slightly awkward.

Where to Find the Rusted Bridge Strongbox

Look for the enormous tree trunk arched over the bridge.

Move toward the northern side of the bridge near the tree’s roots and approach the railing.

Now look down.

Below the bridge, you should be able to see a metal platform and structure.

That’s where you’re going.

Carefully descend toward the structure.

Once you’ve made it down safely, search inside the building and you’ll find the hidden Strongbox.

Enter:

07230

You’ll receive the Lv. 2 Florescent Recovery Spirit Stone.

This box is a good example of why you shouldn’t blindly follow Strongbox map icons. Sometimes the collectible isn’t on your current level at all—it’s directly underneath you.

Subcity of Flowers: Interior Strongbox Code – 01498

Code: 01498

Rewards:

  • 2 Spirit Stone Ore (M)
  • 1,083 Amber
  • 1 Recovery Tonic (M)
  • 1 Decayed Charm I
  • 1 Ancient Book (Common)

This is another Strongbox that’s absolutely worth grabbing.

Before you can reach it, however, you need to gain access to the Subcity of Flowers.

Start from the Flower Square: Forefront camp on the eastern side of The Great Wall Terraces.

Travel northeast.

After a short distance, you’ll arrive at a small village.

Look around for the large hatch door leading into the Subcity.

There’s a wheel nearby.

Use it to open the hatch and head underground.

Finding the Subcity of Flowers Strongbox

Progress through the Subcity while defeating the Golems blocking your route.

Fortunately, this section is fairly linear, so you don’t need to worry too much about taking a wrong turn.

Continue until you reach:

Subcity of Flowers: Interior camp

Activate the campsite if you haven’t already.

Then proceed into the next area.

You’ll find an Elite enemy roaming around the courtyard.

Defeat it.

You’ll receive an audio recording revealing the Strongbox combination:

01498

The Strongbox isn’t far away.

Continue toward the end of the room and check around the base of the large statue.

You’ll find the locked box there.

Enter 01498 and collect the rewards, including 1,083 Amber and two Spirit Stone Ore (M).

Best Strongboxes to Open Early

You don’t necessarily need to chase every Strongbox the moment its icon appears.

However, there are a couple I’d prioritize.

The Subway Platform Strongbox is particularly useful because it contains a Facility Module. Facility Modules help expand the functionality of your Cleanse Walker, so grabbing these can have benefits beyond simply giving you another pile of crafting materials.

I’d also return for the Abandoned Village Strongbox once Chapter 1 gives you the Red Key. It’s a very quick detour once you actually have the key.

And if you’re exploring The Great Wall Terraces, the Subcity of Flowers box has a particularly generous collection of loot, including more than 1,000 Amber.
