If you’ve just jumped back into Animal Hospital and noticed a few new things around the game, there’s a small but interesting update waiting for you.
This update isn’t massive, but it adds some new lore surrounding Liz, a special cutscene, a new way to help patients move around the hospital, several new skins, and a few quality-of-life changes. The biggest thing to look out for is Liz’s new interaction, because it eventually leads you to her home and gives you a little more insight into what she’s been investigating.
Here’s everything added in the update and how the new Liz content works.
Animal Hospital New Lore Update – How to Visit Liz’s Home
The biggest addition in this update is a new interaction involving Liz.
The game now gives you the opportunity to visit Liz’s home and discover what she’s been investigating.
However, you don’t simply walk outside and immediately enter her house. There’s some progression involved first.
You’ll need to interact with Liz beforehand and continue following her interactions throughout your shifts.
As you keep progressing through the hospital’s waves and shifts, more interactions with Liz will become available.
How to Visit Liz’s Home
If you’re trying to unlock Liz’s home, the general process is:
- Continue playing through your hospital shifts.
- Keep interacting with Liz whenever her interactions become available.
- Follow her conversations and interactions rather than skipping them.
- Continue progressing through the waves and shifts.
- Eventually, you’ll be able to visit Liz’s home.
- Explore her home to discover the additional lore connected to her investigation.
The exact timing can require quite a few shifts, so don’t worry if Liz’s home doesn’t become available immediately.
The important part is to keep interacting with Liz as you progress.
New Liz Lore
Visiting Liz’s home isn’t just a new location for the sake of having somewhere else to walk around.
The purpose of the addition is to give players more lore about Liz and what she’s been investigating.
If you’ve been following the character’s interactions throughout the game, this is the part of the update you’ll probably find most interesting.
So, if you’re interested in the story, don’t ignore Liz’s interactions. Keep following them as you progress because they’re connected to eventually discovering her home and the extra lore.
New Special Cutscene
The update also adds a new special cutscene.
This is connected to the new content and gives players another piece of the game’s story.
If you’re working through the Liz interactions, make sure you pay attention to the new story content rather than simply rushing through your shifts.
New Wheelchair for Patients
A new wheelchair has also been added.
You can manually use it to help patients move faster around the hospital.
This can be useful when you’re trying to get patients where they need to go more quickly.
There is one important limitation, though: the wheelchair does not work on every character.
So if you try to use it with a particular patient and nothing happens, it doesn’t necessarily mean the feature is broken. Some characters simply aren’t compatible with it.
Eight New Skins
The update also adds eight new skins.
The new cosmetics are available across several different roles, including:
- Doctor
- Surgeon
- Paramedic
- Security
- Secret Agent
- Head Nurse
If you enjoy customizing your character or collecting the different role cosmetics, there’s some new stuff to unlock and check out here.
New Random Minigame
There’s also a new minigame that can randomly occur in rooms 1 through 5.
The important word here is “randomly.”
You shouldn’t expect the minigame to appear every time you enter one of these rooms. Instead, it may happen during your shifts.
So if you’re specifically looking for it, keep playing through the relevant rooms and watch for the event to trigger.
Third-Person Camera Setting
Another useful addition is a new setting that allows you to enable third-person cameras.
If you prefer playing from a third-person perspective, you can now turn this option on through the game’s settings.
It’s a relatively small change, but it’s a nice addition for players who prefer having a wider view of their character and surroundings.
Shop UI Update
The game’s Shop UI has also been updated.
This is mainly a quality-of-life improvement that makes the shop interface easier to navigate.
It doesn’t introduce a major new gameplay system, but it is part of the overall update alongside the other interface changes.
Bug Fixes and Other Changes
The update also includes several bug fixes.
The developers have made general improvements alongside the new content, although the main focus of the update is clearly the Liz content, wheelchair, skins, minigame, camera option, and Shop UI.
Best Way to Experience the Update
If you’re coming back to Animal Hospital specifically for the new content, I’d recommend playing normally rather than trying to rush through everything.
Start your shifts and keep an eye out for Liz’s interactions.
Whenever you can interact with her, do it. Continue following her story while progressing through the hospital’s waves and shifts.
At the same time, keep an eye on rooms 1–5 because the new minigame can occur randomly there.
You can also check the settings for the new third-person camera option and try out the new wheelchair when you have a compatible patient.
Final Thoughts
This isn’t the biggest Animal Hospital update, but there are still some interesting additions here, especially if you’ve been following the game’s lore.
The most important new feature is definitely Liz’s home and the extra story surrounding her investigation. Just remember that you can’t immediately access it. You’ll need to keep interacting with Liz and progress through your shifts before you’re eventually able to visit her home.
Alongside that, you’ve got the new cutscene, wheelchair, eight new role skins, random minigame, third-person camera setting, updated Shop UI, and bug fixes.
So if you’re mainly here for the lore, focus on Liz. If you’re looking for gameplay changes, try the wheelchair and watch for the new minigame during rooms 1–5.
