Trying to figure out which units are actually worth using in Anime Origins can get confusing very quickly. There are a lot of characters, and just because a unit has big damage numbers doesn’t necessarily mean it’s better than everything else.
Some units are amazing on their own, some need a specific teammate, while others are mainly useful because they provide support or farming.
So, rather than simply throwing every character into one giant tier, this guide breaks things down by role and actual usefulness. I’ll also point out when a unit looks powerful on paper but has a major drawback that you need to know about.
This tier list is based on the rankings and gameplay impressions from the provided source, so keep in mind that future updates can change the meta.
Anime Origins Meta Tier List – Best Units Ranked
The strongest units highlighted in the current meta are:
- Mo – Top-tier nuker/DPS
- Uda – Extremely versatile ability-copying unit
- Alucard – Powerful DPS/support hybrid
- Gojo – Best overall support
- Ban – Excellent farming/support unit
- Super Saiyan 3 Goku – Best beginner-friendly DPS
- Meliodas – Extremely strong DPS/support hybrid
- Kenpachi – Excellent boss killer
- Anako – Strong support with stun utility
- Bulma – Best farming unit
The biggest thing to remember is that there isn’t one character that automatically wins in every situation.
For example, Mo is incredible when you want huge damage numbers, while Gojo brings utility, and Bulma is there to make your economy much stronger.
Mo
If your goal is to see an absolutely ridiculous damage number pop up on the screen, Mo is the unit you want to look at.
He’s an incredibly powerful nuker, and his Heaven’s Pressure ability applies Calamity.
The interesting part is that Calamity repeats a portion of the damage you deal while the mark is active.
That means Mo doesn’t simply hit hard once and call it a day. The more damage your team is already capable of producing during his window, the more value he gets.
This is why his scaling can become ridiculous in the right setup.
Verdict: Meta
If you want raw nuking power, Mo is one of the first units I’d look toward.
Meliodas
Meliodas is another unit sitting extremely high on the list.
What makes him so good isn’t just his damage.
He also brings:
- Resistance shred
- Crowd control
- Team damage support
- A powerful damage window
- Strong overall DPS
That’s what makes Meliodas so annoying to rank.
He’s technically a DPS, but he also contributes enough utility that he starts feeling like a DPS/support hybrid.
If you want a unit that can both destroy enemies and help the rest of your team do more damage, Meliodas is an excellent choice.
Verdict: Meta
Uda
Uda has one of the most interesting mechanics in the entire game.
He can essentially copy abilities from other units on your team.
That gives him an enormous amount of flexibility.
The catch is also pretty obvious.
His strength depends on what the rest of your team actually has.
If your account has a bunch of powerful evolved units with great abilities, Uda can become incredibly strong.
If your account is still underdeveloped, you’re not going to get nearly as much value from him.
That’s why I wouldn’t judge Uda purely by his own stats.
His ceiling is heavily tied to your roster.
Verdict: Meta
Alucard
Alucard is another incredibly versatile character.
Instead of being a pure DPS or pure support, he essentially sits somewhere between the two.
He can deal serious damage while also contributing utility to the team.
That’s extremely valuable because every team slot matters.
A unit that can perform multiple jobs allows you to build a more flexible team without sacrificing as much damage.
Verdict: Meta
Gojo
If we’re talking specifically about support, Gojo is the unit I’d put at the top.
His biggest selling point is his combination of crowd control and damage.
He can apply Slow, while his Infinite Domain gives him another powerful tool for controlling and damaging enemies.
The other reason Gojo is so good is that he isn’t completely useless when enemies aren’t being controlled.
He’s also capable of dealing respectable damage himself.
So you aren’t sacrificing an entire team slot for a character that only provides buffs.
Verdict: Best Support / Meta
If you have Gojo, he’s one of the units I’d strongly consider building around.
Ban
Ban is another support-oriented unit, but his value comes from a completely different direction.
He’s essentially a secondary farming unit.
He can provide additional income based on kills, making him extremely useful when you’re trying to build up your economy.
That makes him particularly valuable for longer modes where your income directly affects how quickly you can scale.
If you’re already using Bulma, Ban can complement that economic strategy very nicely.
Verdict: Meta Support/Farming
Bulma
If you need money, Bulma is the obvious choice.
She’s considered the strongest dedicated farming unit in the current ranking.
This isn’t really complicated.
You’re bringing Bulma because you want more money.
And more money means:
More upgrades → stronger team → faster clears → more progression
So even though Bulma isn’t going to top a DPS damage chart, she can have a massive impact on your overall run.
Verdict: Best Farming Unit
Super Saiyan 3 Goku
Super Saiyan 3 Goku deserves special attention because he’s one of the easiest high-tier DPS units for newer players to build toward.
He’s fast to evolve, relatively beginner-friendly, and provides excellent damage.
He also has a unique mobility ability that allows him to move around the map, giving him additional flexibility.
That’s a huge deal for a new player.
You don’t necessarily need the rarest unit in the game if you can get a powerful character quickly and actually use him throughout your progression.
That’s where Goku shines.
Verdict: Meta / Best Beginner DPS
If you’re a new player, Goku is one of the safest units to work toward.
Kenpachi
Kenpachi is one of those units where you can almost think of him as a boss delete button.
His biggest advantage is that he doesn’t require an overly complicated setup to be useful.
You can put him into your team and immediately get strong boss damage.
That simplicity matters.
Some units can technically outperform him, but only after you build a very specific team around them.
Kenpachi doesn’t need nearly as much preparation.
Verdict: Top-Tier Boss Killer
Anako
Anako is another support unit worth paying attention to.
Her biggest unique feature is her stun.
That gives her a role that other support characters don’t necessarily replicate.
She’s particularly useful alongside Gojo because the two can provide strong control over enemies.
She can also contribute DPS, making her more flexible than a support who only provides utility.
Verdict: High-Tier Support
Gojo remains the preferred support, but Anako is a very strong second option.
Igris
Igris is an interesting case.
On paper, he can be absolutely insane.
He has a massive Frenzy window and can produce enormous DPS when everything is set up correctly.
The problem?
He needs the right team.
Igris depends heavily on another unit applying a particular debuff.
Without that setup, his performance falls considerably.
With the correct team composition, however, he can potentially become one of the strongest DPS units available.
So I wouldn’t call Igris bad at all.
He’s actually the opposite.
He’s just team-dependent.
Verdict: Near-Meta / Team-Dependent DPS
If you’re willing to build around him, he becomes much more attractive.
Ichigo
Ichigo is one of the more interesting progression units because he can be evolved through multiple rarities.
You can start with his lower-rarity version and work him up through:
Rare → Legendary → Mythic
That’s a really nice progression path for newer players.
He can also reach extremely high damage numbers at higher investment.
However, despite that impressive scaling, he doesn’t quite outperform the top meta DPS options.
Verdict: Good DPS / Below Meta
He’s absolutely usable, especially if you already have him, but I wouldn’t prioritize him over the strongest units on this list.
Zelda
Zelda is a perfect example of why you shouldn’t always judge a unit individually.
He can gain additional damage and critical chance while a boss is alive, which is already useful.
But the really interesting part is his interaction with Meliodas.
Zelda gains additional damage based on Meliodas’ kills.
That means the two units work together extremely well.
So if you’re building a DPS team without access to the game’s secret units, the Meliodas + Zelda combination is worth considering.
By himself, Zelda is more average.
With Meliodas?
Much better.
Verdict: Strong With Meliodas / Mid Alone
Stark
Stark is another very strong damage dealer.
His primary selling point is his huge nuke.
He’s basically built to deliver a massive burst of damage rather than provide a bunch of different utility tools.
The issue is that Kenpachi offers more versatility for boss content, while Mo brings even more scaling potential as a nuker.
So Stark isn’t bad at all.
He’s simply competing against some extremely powerful alternatives.
Verdict: High DPS / Below Top Meta
If you want big numbers and already have Stark, he’s absolutely worth using.
Toji
Toji is one of the strangest units on the list.
His numbers are impressive, with bonuses to:
- Damage
- Penetration
- Critical chance
The problem is that Toji cannot receive normal team buffs.
That means you can’t simply surround him with your strongest support units and expect all of their buffs to improve him.
He can’t benefit from certain team effects such as Meliodas’ aura or Ban’s support effects.
Because of this, you need to think carefully before building a team around him.
If you’re using Toji, don’t waste multiple team slots on buffers whose buffs won’t actually affect him.
Verdict: Strong DPS / Difficult to Build Around
UA
UA is another interesting DPS.
He’s a limited unit and has a useful scaling mechanic based around kills.
As he reaches certain kill milestones, he gains additional damage, allowing him to become stronger as the match progresses.
He can also store additional damage and release it as an AoE attack.
That’s a nice combination for longer runs where he has enough time to build up.
Verdict: Strong DPS
Sasuke
Sasuke is another character whose value changes depending on your team.
On his own, he’s not considered one of the best DPS units.
However, he becomes much more important when you’re using Igris.
Sasuke can apply the debuff that Igris needs to reach his full potential.
So if you’re running the Igris setup, Sasuke becomes much more valuable.
Without Igris, he’s a much more ordinary DPS.
Verdict: Mid Alone / Strong in Igris Team
This is a perfect example of why team composition matters in Anime Origins.
Shinro
Shinro isn’t one of the strongest general-purpose supports, but she does have a useful niche.
She can apply Bleed and Damage Over Time, which makes her particularly valuable against bosses that rely on healing or regeneration.
So while I wouldn’t recommend her as your default support, there are situations where she becomes extremely useful.
If you encounter a boss that keeps regenerating its health, this is exactly the type of character you want available.
Verdict: Niche Support
Mikey
Mikey is technically a support unit, but the ranking places him noticeably below Gojo and Anako.
The problem is that his support utility doesn’t compare favorably with the better options.
If you already have Gojo or Anako, there’s generally little reason to prioritize Mikey.
Verdict: Low-Tier Support
Choso
Choso is one character I wouldn’t completely overlook just because he’s not sitting at the top of the meta.
He’s a budget-friendly DPS and can be very useful for beginners.
If you pull him early, I’d absolutely use him.
There’s no reason to sit around waiting for a perfect Mythic while your account struggles through early content.
Use the strong units you actually have.
Verdict: Good Beginner DPS
Naruto
Naruto doesn’t really bring anything particularly unique to the table in this ranking.
He isn’t necessarily unusable, but there are better ways to spend your resources.
Verdict: Skip
Vegeta Super
Super Vegeta is essentially a straightforward DPS.
He doesn’t have a particularly unique gimmick or mechanic that separates him from the stronger characters.
He’s usable, but there are better options.
Verdict: Mid / Low Priority
Trunks
Trunks falls somewhere around the middle of the ranking.
He’s not terrible, but he’s also not someone I’d recommend chasing over the stronger meta units.
If you already have him, you can certainly use him while progressing.
But don’t make him your long-term goal.
Verdict: Mid
Legendary Units
One of the strongest general recommendations from the ranking is to avoid spending too many resources chasing ordinary Legendary units.
There are exceptions, particularly for beginners who simply need a usable DPS, but once your account starts getting stronger, many of these units become replaceable.
So don’t panic if you don’t have every Legendary.
Your resources are better spent working toward stronger evolutions and higher-end units.
Anime Origins Support Ranking
If we’re looking specifically at support, the current ranking can be simplified to:
1. Gojo
The best overall support thanks to his control, Slow, Infinite Domain, and ability to contribute damage.
2. Anako
A strong secondary option with stun and additional DPS utility.
3. Ban
Excellent for farming and income rather than traditional crowd control.
4. Shinro
Niche option that’s particularly useful against healing bosses.
5. Mikey
A weaker general-purpose support compared with the alternatives.
Anime Origins Farming Ranking
For farming, the priority is much simpler.
1. Bulma
The best dedicated farming unit.
2. Ban
A useful secondary farming option that can generate additional income through kills.
If you’re trying to maximize your economy, having both can be extremely valuable.
Anime Origins DPS Ranking
The DPS ranking is more complicated because some characters need specific teammates.
A useful way to think about it is:
Top DPS / Meta
- Mo
- Meliodas
- Kenpachi
- Uda
- Alucard
High DPS
- Super Saiyan 3 Goku
- Igris with the correct team
- Stark
- Toji
- Ichigo
- Zelda with Meliodas
- UA
Mid / Budget DPS
- Choso
- Sasuke
- Super Vegeta
- Trunks
Low Priority / Skip
- Naruto
- Various weaker Legendary options
- Unreleased or untested units
The exact ordering can change depending on the mode, enemy type, buffs available, and your team composition.
Best Beginner Units in Anime Origins
If you’re a new player, I wouldn’t recommend chasing the absolute top unit immediately.
Instead, look for units that are powerful and easy to build.
That’s why Super Saiyan 3 Goku stands out so much.
He’s easy to work toward, has excellent DPS, and has useful mobility.
Choso is another good beginner option if you pull him early.
And if you manage to obtain Gojo, you’ve got one of the strongest support characters available.
A beginner-friendly progression could therefore look something like:
Super Saiyan 3 Goku → Gojo → Kenpachi → stronger meta DPS → specialized units
Best Team Combinations
Meliodas + Zelda
This is one of the strongest combinations if you don’t have access to the game’s secret units.
Zelda benefits from Meliodas’ kills, making the two work much better together than they do individually.
Igris + Sasuke
If you want to use Igris properly, Sasuke becomes extremely important because he provides the debuff Igris needs.
This is a team-dependent setup, but it can produce ridiculous DPS.
Gojo + Anako
Both characters provide strong control utility.
Gojo handles Slow and his other support abilities, while Anako brings stun.
That can make the pair particularly useful in situations where controlling enemies is important.
Bulma + Ban
If your goal is economy, these two are worth considering together.
Bulma handles your main farming role while Ban provides additional income through kills.
