Anime Squadron’s latest update may be called Update 0.5, but honestly, it feels much bigger than that. Between the new Eclipse Raid, fresh story content, new units, evolution materials, and the long-awaited Bounty System, there’s a lot to unpack.
When I first logged in after the update dropped, I made the mistake of jumping straight into the raid without checking the new mechanics. Let’s just say that didn’t end well. If you’re doing the same, this guide should save you a lot of frustration.
Here’s everything you need to know about the update and what you should prioritize first.
New Story Stage Rewards
The update introduces a brand-new story chapter based on the Berserk-inspired content.
Even though story stages aren’t usually the most exciting part of an update, you should still clear both:
- Normal Mode
- Hard Mode
At least once.
The first-clear rewards are worth grabbing, and completing the chapter also helps unlock access to some of the newer content introduced in this update.
If you’re rushing through the update, don’t skip these rewards. Free resources are free resources.
New Squanto Stage
A new Squanto Stage has also been added.
Like previous Squanto content, there are four chapters to clear, each offering different rewards.
The biggest reason you’ll want to farm this area is because it contains one of the new units introduced in the update.
How to Get Guts
Guts can be obtained from:
- Squanto Stage Chapter 4
If you’re planning to collect every new unit added this patch, this should be one of your first farming targets.
New Eclipse Raid Explained
The Eclipse Raid is the main attraction of Update 0.5.
This raid introduces a mechanic that works differently from previous content, and understanding it is the key to clearing the stage consistently.
The Skeleton Knight Mechanic
Normally, players focus entirely on defeating enemies and protecting their base.
This raid changes that.
Your main objective is protecting the Skeleton Knight.
Even if your units reach the end of the map, they will eventually disappear. The stage only ends successfully when the Skeleton Knight safely reaches the destination.
This creates an entirely different strategy compared to older raids.
Raid Priority
Your main goals should be:
- Protect Skeleton Knight.
- Clear enemies quickly.
- Defeat the boss before Skeleton Knight reaches him.
The boss can kill Skeleton Knight surprisingly fast if you allow them to meet directly.
In most successful runs, the boss dies before Skeleton Knight gets close enough to be threatened.
Raid Rewards
The Eclipse Raid is currently the best source for several important rewards.
Available Rewards
- Skeleton Knight unit
- Evolution materials
- New Falcon gear set
- Additional raid resources
The new gear set appears to be designed specifically for Falcon, making raid farming even more important if you’re planning to build him.
New Units Added in Update 0.5
This update introduces several highly anticipated Berserk-inspired units.
Falcon
Falcon is currently available through banners and is arguably the most important new unit.
The reason many players are prioritizing Falcon is because he appears to have access to a future evolution.
According to the update information, Falcon can evolve into:
- Falcon Dark
Many players expect Falcon Dark to become a Secret Unit, which could make Falcon one of the strongest investments in the current update.
Casca
Casca is the second new Mythic unit added in this patch.
While she doesn’t appear to have a Secret evolution path, Mythic units are usually valuable additions to most rosters.
If you’re choosing between the two banners, Falcon is generally considered the safer long-term investment due to his potential evolution.
Guts
As mentioned earlier, Guts is obtainable from Chapter 4 of the new Squanto Stage.
Unlike Falcon and Casca, Guts is earned through gameplay rather than banner summons.
How to Find Evolution Materials
One feature many players overlook is the update log itself.
If you’re unsure where an evolution item drops, simply:
- Open Update Logs
- Scroll down to the materials section
- Hover over the item
The game tells you exactly where each material can be obtained.
It’s a small feature, but it saves a lot of time compared to guessing where items drop.
Best Banner Priority
If you’re low on gems and can only target one banner unit, Falcon should probably be your first choice.
Reasons to prioritize Falcon:
- Potential Secret evolution
- Future-proof investment
- Dedicated gear set from raid rewards
- Strong long-term value
Casca is still a good pickup, but Falcon currently has more upside.
New Bounty System Explained
One of the biggest quality-of-life additions in Update 0.5 is the new Bounty System.
You can find it near the play area on the left side of the lobby.
How Bounties Work
The system gives players rotating objectives that reward extra resources.
Simply:
- Open the Bounty Board.
- Accept available tasks.
- Complete objectives.
- Claim rewards.
The rewards aren’t game-changing, but they’re essentially free resources for content you’re already playing.
Refresh Tickets
If you don’t like your current bounty selection, you can refresh them using Refresh Tickets.
At the moment, Refresh Tickets appear to be primarily available through Robux purchases.
Because of that, most free-to-play players should probably save their refreshes and work with the missions they receive.
Raid Team Recommendations
For players struggling with Eclipse Raid, strong DPS units remain extremely important.
The strategy many successful players are using focuses on:
- Aizen
- Gogeta
- Madara
- Fast support units like Kakashi or Sanji
Why Kakashi Is Used
Interestingly, Kakashi isn’t included for damage.
He’s mainly used because of his movement speed.
If you own Sanji, he can often replace Kakashi since he’s one of the fastest units available.
Upgrade Priority
For most runs:
- Upgrade Aizen first.
- Invest in your main DPS units.
- Focus on boss damage.
- Keep Skeleton Knight protected.
Aizen remains one of the highest damage dealers in the game, making him the safest early investment during raid runs.
Recommended Build Setup
Many top players are currently leaning toward critical-focused builds.
The reason is simple: landing consistent critical hits dramatically increases overall damage output during longer battles.
For units like:
- Aizen
- Gogeta
- Madara
High critical rate and critical damage are generally performing very well.
One thing worth noting is that stacking certain Omega effects can convert damage into damage-over-time effects, which isn’t always ideal depending on the unit you’re building.
Always double-check how your gear bonuses interact before committing resources.
Update 0.5 adds far more than a simple new banner. The Eclipse Raid introduces one of the most interesting mechanics Anime Squadron has had so far, while Falcon, Casca, and Guts give players multiple new units to chase.
If you’re jumping into the update for the first time, I’d focus on clearing the new story stages, unlocking Guts from Chapter 4, farming Eclipse Raid for materials, and pulling for Falcon if you have the resources.
The new Bounty System is also worth checking every day since the rewards add up over time. With all the new progression paths available, this update feels like a solid step forward for the game.
