Cozy Caravan Fishing Guide – All Fish Locations, Tips

Fishing in Cozy Caravan is a relaxed system on the surface, but fully completing your notebook and unlocking the pink fishing outfit requires knowing where to fish, when to stop, and how special fish actually work. This guide walks through every fish location, explains the mechanics clearly, and gives practical advice to finish fishing content efficiently without frustration.

All Fish Locations (Notebook Order)

Fish are listed in the same order they appear in the notebook, which makes this section ideal for tracking down exactly what you are missing.
Fish marked as common can appear in multiple spots within the same habitat type.

How Fishing Actually Works

Fishing is done by interacting with water where three fish are visibly swimming. What happens next depends on timing, patience, and how much you move the hook.

When you cast your line, you can:

  • Choose a direction to throw the hook
  • Adjust the hook mid-throw (the white “X” in the water)

A useful trick is to gently pull the hook back toward your character so it doesn’t overshoot the fish.

Hook Timing (Most Common Mistake)

Fish splash twice before biting.

  • Ignore the first splash
  • Press the interact (hook) button on the second splash, when white water kicks up

If you press too early or too late, the fish will escape.

Once hooked, immediately reel in. Waiting too long can cause the fish to get away.

What You Can Catch

Fishing can result in three different outcomes:

Trash

Trash is always removed from the water when caught. You can give trash to Rumble or Hup (at Sandystone Point) to earn hearts, so trash is never wasted.

Normal Fish

Normal fish can be:

  • Used in recipes
  • Kept only once per day per fishing spot

If you catch a second normal fish in the same spot on the same day, it must be released.

Special Fish

Special fish are never kept. Instead:

  • They are photographed
  • The photo is added to your notebook
  • The fish is released back into the water

If the fish you catch is the largest of its type so far, it replaces the old photo in your notebook.

Important detail:
Notebook photos are cropped from the center, so framing does not matter. Catching a larger fish of the same type will overwrite the previous image automatically.

Fishing in Cozy Caravan rewards patience more than persistence. Knowing when to stop is just as important as knowing where to cast. If you follow the notebook order and rotate locations daily, you’ll complete the collection naturally without grinding.
