Daimon Blades throws you straight into a brutal, mysterious world filled with corruption, strange weapons, and lore that doesn’t hold your hand. Whether you’re wondering how to exit a run, manage your equipment, or just survive longer, this guide will help you understand the essential systems and early-game mechanics — without spoiling everything.
Daimon Blades Beginner Guide Wiki
What Counts as “Finishing” a Run?
There are three main ways a run can end:
- You reach 100 corruption — a hard fail, and your run ends.
- You complete the run by beating the final boss.
- You find a Sanctuary, which lets you leave with your loot intact.
Until you’ve built up enough experience and power, reaching Sanctuaries is often the best mid-run goal.
Sanctuaries
Sanctuaries are special safe zones that occasionally appear after defeating major bosses. They’re rare, so treat them as valuable milestones. When you find one:
- Enter and collect loot at the center.
- Exit through the inner door for extra rewards.
- When prompted, choose the fourth option to fully exit the run.
- Watch your corruption reset, your progress preserved.
Weapons
Every weapon you find is randomly generated, including:
- Its name
- Stats
- Skills
- And even an astrological sign
The only constant is the Lineage skill, which is based on your weapon type and cannot be changed.
Weapon Tiers:
- Normal – Basic modifiers, common.
- Blue – Better stats, more skills.
- Gold – Rare and powerful, with the most modifiers.
Gold-tier weapons start dropping once you’re playing on at least B difficulty. The final boss of a run will always drop a weapon matching the highest tier for your current difficulty.
Pro Tip: Some skills are run-defining, others are dead weight. Don’t be afraid to destroy bad weapons for Daimon Orbs, which are used to upgrade weapon skills up to level 10.
Alchemy, Ingredients & Tracking – A Minimalist Approach
If you’re wondering where your alchemical ingredients are stored or tracked — they’re not shown during missions. You’ll only be able to review your collected ingredients at the blacksmith back at your base.
She’ll also give you vague clues on where to find certain items. Exploration is key here — there’s no shortcut.
Blacksmith
The blacksmith doesn’t just craft amulets and cosmetic skins — she also unlocks some progression paths. But she isn’t available immediately. To access her:
- Complete a few expeditions
- Collect Iron and Copper
- Speak to her regularly between missions
She’s not required to progress, but becomes increasingly useful as you build resources.
Sacrifices
In the absence of healing items or safety nets, you’ll eventually come across the Sacrifice system. Sacrificing grants you:
- Full health
- Refilled flasks
…but at the cost of increased corruption. Use this only when necessary — especially during longer or more punishing runs.
Combat Tips
- Lasers from door traps? Either parry them or dodge at the last second. Listen for audio cues — they signal the exact moment to react.
- Parrying is fast but risky. Dodging is safer if your timing isn’t perfect yet.
Artifacts
Sometimes, your character may feel cursed, or things may behave unpredictably.
That’s probably because you picked up an Artifact.
- There’s currently no in-game indicator that shows what artifacts you’re carrying.
- You must memorize their effects when you pick them up.
- Some offer pure benefits, but many have downsides or strange synergies.
Be mindful of what you loot — artifacts can make or break a run.
Character Creation
Your class and gender don’t seem to affect combat or loot directly — but they do influence the game’s difficulty subtly. Think of them as a hidden layer of complexity or challenge tuning.
So yes, your choice does matter, even if not in obvious ways.
The Destroy System
Destroying unwanted weapons or talismans should yield Daimon Orbs — the resource used to upgrade your weapon skills. But…
- Sometimes you get 1 orb, sometimes nothing, sometimes even negative gains.
- It’s inconsistent and often unreliable.
- Destroying items in bulk may improve the odds slightly, but it’s not guaranteed.
Use this system cautiously — treat it as a gamble, not a farming strategy.
Daimon Blades is a challenging and deeply atmospheric game that expects you to learn through experience. There’s very little UI guidance, no run tracking menus during missions, and progression is often obscured behind cryptic systems.
But that’s part of the charm.
If you’re willing to experiment, read the world, and take calculated risks, you’ll find yourself getting deeper into a genuinely rewarding gameplay loop. Let failure teach you — and let this guide help you fail a little less often.
