Goblin Cleanup Beginner Guide – Slimes, and Mop Mastery

Welcome to the real training manual for Goblin Cleanup—not the sanitized pamphlet the trainers hand out. This guide shares field-tested techniques to help you survive the daily grind of dungeon maintenance, slime wrangling, trap dodging, and the occasional mimic incident.

Compiled by Stray, a seasoned maid under the Dark Lord’s command, this guide covers the subtle mechanics and shortcuts most goblins learn only after a few burnt eyebrows and long nights in the blood pits.

Goblin Cleanup Beginner Guide – Slimes, and Mop Mastery

Being a goblin maid is a tough job—part janitor, part monster wrangler, and part battlefield tactician. Sure, the trainers teach you how to hold a mop, but they don’t explain how to keep slimes alive, ignite them for maximum coverage, or use them as makeshift grenades when things go wrong.

This guide focuses on exactly those kinds of practical tips, gathered from long hours in cursed corridors and haunted halls. Expect regular updates, unfinished sections, and the occasional bloodstain between notes.

Slimes

Slimes are your most important cleanup tool, but they’re also temperamental and prone to exploding if mishandled. Knowing how to care for them is essential.

Generic Slimes

Everyone starts with the basic slime. It’s simple, loyal, and perfectly suited to early stages—until you push it too far.

Blood Overload Warning:

  • Feed them too much gore, and they’ll overflow, leaving behind more mess than you started with.
  • This phenomenon is called blood poisoning—it happens when a slime can’t contain what it absorbed and begins to leak.

Slime Expressions (Visual Health Indicator):

  • O . O – Healthy and ready to clean
  • Q . Q – Near capacity, likely to cause leaks
  • X . X – Dead. Completely saturated and now actively making things worse

Pro tip: Always rotate your slime before it hits the teary stage. Cleaning up after a leaking slime is twice the work.

Fire Slimes

Fire Slimes are elite-tier janitorial assets. Once you evolve your basic blob into one, there’s no going back.

Advantages:

  • Clean 10–20% faster
  • Cover a wider splatter radius
  • Burn away messes in 2 sweeps or less
  • Don’t die from overuse — they just need to be reignited

How to Ignite a Fire Slime:

  1. Furnace Method
    • Rebuild the broken furnace (wheel + tube)
    • Activate it
    • Bring your slime near and wait for ignition
  2. Torch Method
    • Recharge a torch until it glows purple
    • Extend your Slimop toward the flame
    • Sparks = ignition
  3. Brazier Method
    • Available on certain stages
    • Simply toss or hover your slime above the fire source
  4. Manual Levitation Method
    • Hold the slime near an active heat source using Levitate
    • Wait for sizzling and sparks

Note: Fire slimes can be used offensively. Toss one with a strong right-click throw and it acts like a fireball, damaging enemies and burning surfaces.

Off-the-record: This method is “frowned upon” by management, but it works in a pinch. Use at your own risk.

Ice Slimes

Still under observation. Early findings suggest they’re more difficult to manage and situational in use. More details will be added after testing.

End-of-Shift Slime Disposal

You’ve got three safe options:

  1. Leave them in the dungeon – They’ll slither back to the slime machine eventually
  2. Feed them to a mimic – Mimics “clean” the slime by digestion
  3. Throw them into a void portal – They’ll be “adopted” by the Dark Lord’s forces

Important: Do not try to take slimes home. Management screens all exits. Smuggling slimes will result in disciplinary action (and slime confiscation).

Mimics – Documentation Pending

Mimics are part storage container, part surprise hazard. Detailed handling instructions are on the way. In the meantime, treat every treasure chest with suspicion. If it wiggles, don’t open it.

Restorable Items & Mana Recharges – Under Construction

This section will cover:

  • Recharging magical tools
  • Restoring artifacts
  • Using mana pools and fountains effectively

Content will be added once the team survives another full shift in the Forbidden Library.

Traps – Coming Soon

Guide will include:

  • Trap types and visual tells
  • How to disarm them safely
  • How to use them against monsters (and coworkers)

Currently under goblin construction. Expect shoddy scaffolding and live explosives until further notice.

Monsters – Maintenance in Progress

Will detail:

  • Monster behavior during cleanup
  • When to engage versus avoid
  • Emergency procedures for hostile ambushes

This section is being reviewed for safety violations. Completion ETA: unknown.

Goblin Rewards – Content Pending

Expect:

  • Unlockable uniforms and tools
  • Secret bonuses for cleanup streaks
  • How to impress the Dark Lord (and earn time off)

Updates will be posted once Stray completes her next full dungeon rotation.

Being a goblin maid isn’t about glory. It’s about efficiency, adaptability, and knowing when to swap a teary-eyed slime before it bursts.

Until the rest of this manual is mopped together, remember:

  • Rotate your slimes often
  • Ignite them whenever possible
  • Respect the fireball method
  • Never trust a stationary treasure chest

Stay sharp, stay clean, and don’t track blood past the boss room. You’ve been warned.
