Grow a Garden Halloween Update Full Guide (2025)

The Halloween Event has officially arrived in Grow a Garden, and it brings new pets, plants, rewards, and spooky interactions to discover. This guide covers every feature in the update — from the Witch’s Cauldron to the Headless Horseman pet — so you can make the most of the event while it lasts.

1. The Witch and the Cauldron

The main event feature is the Witch’s Cauldron, found near the Witch NPC.

How it works:
You can feed any of your plants into the cauldron. Each plant you donate helps fill up the cauldron’s progress bar.

Server-wide effort:
The cauldron’s progress is shared across the entire server, so every player’s contribution helps.

Rewards:
Once the cauldron is filled, all players can receive a random reward, which may include:

Candy Corn

Spooky Egg

Other limited Halloween rewards

The Cauldron resets after completion, allowing players to keep farming rewards together.

2. Halloween Shop

Occasionally, a Halloween Shop appears on the left side of the map.

Currency: Candy Corn (earned from Cauldron rewards or Jack-o’-Lantern events).

Items available:

Cosmetic items (Halloween skins and decorations)

Exclusive pets

Event plants

Note: Prices may differ since the video was recorded in a test server.

3. Headless Horseman Pet

The rarest item in this update is the Headless Horseman Pet, which can be hatched from the Spooky Egg with only a 0.5% drop chance.

Ability:

Every 40 minutes, the Headless Horseman:

  • Haunts a random level 50 pet without a mutation
  • Resets it to level 1
  • Grants it one of the following unique mutations:
    • Dreadbound
    • Soul Flame
    • Spectral
    • Or with a small chance — Nightmare

This makes it one of the most powerful and unique pets ever introduced, especially for mutation hunters.

4. Jack-o’-Lantern Event

Every 2 hours, a Jack-o’-Lantern spawns somewhere in the world.

  • Interaction: Feed it any plant.
  • Outcome: You’ll either get:
    • A Trick — which can include a jump scare or spooky effect.
    • A Treat — which may reward you with:
      • Candy Corn
      • Spooky Egg
      • Possibly even a Crate reward

This random element adds a fun, unpredictable twist to the event.

5. New Seeds

Two new plant types are available in the Sea Shop:

Great Pumpkin Seed

  • Value: Around 40,000 cash
  • Effect: Every minute, it gives a Ghastly Mutation to a random plant in your garden.
  • This is a unique mechanic not seen before — a passive plant that spreads mutations automatically.

Poison Apple Seed

  • Value: Around 20,000 cash
  • No confirmed unique effect, but adds to the Halloween-themed seed collection.

Both can be planted and used like regular plants but are limited to this seasonal event.

6. Halloween Achievements

A new set of Halloween-themed achievements has been added to the Achievements menu.

Rewards for Completion:

  • Pumpkin Fence (Decoration)
  • 100 Candy Corn
  • 5 Spooky Eggs

These achievements likely track your participation in event activities such as feeding the cauldron, interacting with the jack-o’-lantern, or hatching spooky pets.

7. Craftables and Recipes

The update doesn’t add much in the way of crafting, but the Evo Apples might be new additions.
Otherwise, there are no new recipes or gears in this update.

While the Halloween update in Grow a Garden isn’t massive in content, it adds plenty of exciting new mechanics, rewards, and collectibles to chase. Between the Witch’s Cauldron, the rare Headless Horseman, and the Ghastly Pumpkin, this event delivers a fun mix of community teamwork and spooky surprises.

Keep farming, feed those plants to the cauldron, and good luck pulling that Nightmare mutation!
