Secret rooms in GUNTOUCHABLES aren’t explained anywhere in the game, so it’s easy to miss them entirely. After some digging (and a few explosions), here’s a clear breakdown of how to spot and open them, plus what you can expect inside.
1. Spotting a Secret Room Location
While exploring, keep your eyes on the ground — you might see star–shaped markings somewhere on the map. These symbols are the telltale sign that a secret room is hidden directly below.
That’s your cue to go hunting for the next key ingredient: a red explosive barrel.
2. Opening the Secret Room
Once you’ve found a red barrel:
- Pick it up and carry it to the star–shaped marking.
- Place it right on top of the symbol.
- Make it explode — gunfire or enemy shots work fine.
If you’ve lined it up correctly, the explosion will reveal a hatch or bunker entrance leading underground. Congratulations, you’ve just cracked open a secret room.
3. Extra In–Game Clues
After more testing (and reading some clever player comments), there’s another hint worth knowing:
- In some levels, you’ll find drawings of a trapdoor with an arrow painted on the ground or walls.
- This arrow points toward the approximate location of a secret room.
- Think of it as the developers giving you a little nudge in the right direction.
4. What’s Inside a Secret Room
From what’s been found so far, secret rooms always contain one chest — either:
- Gold
- Green
- Red
Golden chests can appear here, even if they’re rare.
On top of that, you may also find:
- Consumables (medkits, turrets, ammo packs, etc.)
- Meta–progression cans (for long–term upgrades)
Sometimes you’ll get all of the above in a single room — sometimes just the chest.
That’s pretty much all you need to know to start opening secret rooms regularly. The key is to watch for star–shaped ground markers or trapdoor drawings, then bring a red barrel to do the dirty work.
It’s a small trick, but it can mean extra loot, consumables, and upgrade items without much extra effort.
