If you’ve been trying to figure out how to unrestrict the Stellarwave Melody Rod in Fisch, you’ve got a pretty interesting quest ahead of you. The requirements are a mix of fishing, cosmic mutations, and activating Astral Anomalies, so it can take a little time to put everything together.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through the full process, including the fish you need, the mutations required, how to activate the Astral Anomalies, and what the unrestricted Stellarwave Melody Rod is actually like to use.
Start the Final Convergence
To begin the process, you’ll need to work toward the Final Convergence.
The first requirement is to catch one Sparkling Aurora Icenade.
This isn’t just a normal catch, so you need to make sure you’re using the right setup. You’ll want to fish with Starlight and Truffle Worm while there is a Rainbow in the Whirlpool.
The important part here is getting the correct combination of fish and mutation. If you’re not getting the Sparkling Aurora Icenade, keep fishing under the required conditions rather than turning in a regular version.
Activate All Astral Anomalies
The next part requires you to activate every Astral Anomaly.
There are five telescopes that you need to activate.
To get them working, you’ll need to:
- Craft the required lens.
- Charge the batteries.
- Find each telescope.
- Turn on all five telescopes.
Make sure you activate every one because missing even a single telescope will prevent you from completing this portion of the requirements.
This is one of those objectives where it’s worth keeping track of which telescopes you’ve already activated, especially if you’re exploring several areas at once.
Catch the Required Cosmic Mutation Fish
This is where the unrestricted quest gets much more demanding.
You’ll need to catch a long list of different fish, and every single one must have a cosmic mutation.
The required mutations are:
- Nova
- Umbra
- Celestial
- Aurora
Each fish only needs to have one of these mutations. You don’t need all four mutations on every catch.
The fish you need are:
- Boreal Mana War
- Goliath Siffer
- Shimmering Silverside
- Lionfish
- Scorpionfish
- Four Horn
- Starlet Seahorse
- King Crab
- Frigid Antler
- Broken Arrow
- Bull Shark
- Largemouth Bass
The Goliath Siffer and some of the other names may be unfamiliar if you haven’t been collecting fish from all over Fisch yet, so expect this part to take some time.
Make Sure Every Fish Has a Cosmic Mutation
This is the part I would pay the most attention to.
Simply catching all 12 fish isn’t enough.
Each one needs to have Nova, Umbra, Celestial, or Aurora on it.
For example, if you catch a Lionfish without one of those cosmic mutations, that catch won’t satisfy the requirement. You’ll need to get another Lionfish with one of the qualifying mutations.
Because of that, it’s a good idea to check every catch before assuming you’re finished.
You can also focus on increasing your mutation and Luck chances wherever possible. The better your setup, the less time you’ll potentially spend replacing fish that don’t have the required mutation.
Return to the NPC
Once you’ve completed the fish requirements and activated all five Astral Anomalies, return to the NPC associated with the quest.
Talk to them and turn in your completed requirements.
If everything has been done correctly, the quest will progress automatically.
You’ll then be taken to a completion screen showing that you’ve finished the required objectives.
After that, return from the screen and you’ll finally have access to the Unrestricted Stellarwave Melody Rod.

Once you’ve unrestricted the rod, you can equip it and check out its stats.
The unrestricted Stellarwave Melody Rod has:
- Lure Speed: 88%
- Luck: 244%
- Control: 0.1
- Resilience: 30%
- Max Kg: Infinite
- Progress Speed: +24
The rod also has a very distinctive visual design.
Stars, constellations, and zodiac symbols move around the rod in circles while you’re using it. It also has music associated with it, which makes the rod feel quite different from your usual fishing equipment.
How the Stellarwave Melody Rod Works
The most interesting part isn’t actually the basic stats.
When you start fishing with the rod, you’ll notice various zodiac symbols appearing around it.
The idea seems to be that you need to interact with the correct symbols in sequence.
For example, you may see Aries appear first. Clicking the correct symbol and then following the sequence seems to increase the speed of the fishing process.
The exact mechanics can take a little practice because you need to recognize which symbol you’re supposed to click next.
How to Max Out the Rod’s Catching Effect
Once you get used to the zodiac sequence, the rod becomes much more interesting.
You need to keep selecting the correct symbols as they appear.
When you hit the correct sequence repeatedly, the catching process speeds up considerably.
At first, it can be difficult to figure out which symbols you’re supposed to select. I had the same feeling when first seeing the mechanic because it isn’t immediately obvious what you’re meant to do.
Once you figure out the pattern, though, you can get the rod working much faster.
The effect can eventually become so fast that you’ll feel like you’re catching fish almost instantly.
