One of the coolest things about MISERY is how little the game actually explains. You walk into a new area, hear something moving in the fog, and suddenly you’re trying to figure out whether you should fight, run, or pretend you never saw it in the first place.
A lot of enemies in MISERY are still surrounded by mystery because the game doesn’t have a full official wiki yet, and honestly, that uncertainty makes encounters way scarier. Some creatures are predictable. Others feel like they crawled straight out of a creepypasta. Also Read: Misery Weapon Tier List
Misery Enemies Guide 2026 – Creature, Monster, Mutants
This guide breaks down every known mutant, humanoid, and hostile creature currently discovered in MISERY, including their behavior, danger level, weaknesses, and what players should expect when encountering them.
Deer
| Threat Level | Low |
|---|---|
| Enemy Type | Territorial Wildlife |
| Behavior | Passive unless attacked |
| Main Danger | Devastating charge attack |
The regular Deer is one of the few creatures in MISERY that usually won’t bother you unless you start the fight first.
That said, provoking one is a terrible idea early-game.
Once aggressive, Deer charge surprisingly fast and hit extremely hard in melee range. I’ve seen players underestimate them because they look harmless at first, only to get flattened seconds later.
Drops
- Meat
- Hide
- Trophy items
Best Strategy
If you don’t need resources, just leave them alone. Fighting one without enough stamina or space to dodge can go badly fast.
Fake Deer / Stalker Deer
| Threat Level | Medium-High |
|---|---|
| Enemy Type | Unknown / Psychological Encounter |
| Behavior | Slowly follows players |
| Confirmed? | No |
This is easily one of the weirdest encounters players have reported so far.
Several players describe seeing what initially looks like a normal Deer, except it quietly follows them from a distance. Over time, it starts moving faster, behaving unnaturally, and eventually appears covered in blood or distorted visually.
The creepiest part is that nobody seems fully sure whether this is:
- A real hidden entity
- A rare event
- A hallucination mechanic
- Or just an extremely disturbing bug
There are currently no confirmed attack patterns tied to it.
Best Strategy
Honestly? If you see one acting strangely, just keep moving.
Even if it turns out to be harmless, the psychological damage is already done.
Swamper
| Threat Level | Moderate |
|---|---|
| Enemy Type | Zombified Human |
| Behavior | Slow until enraged |
| Weakness | Easy to stagger |
Swampers are probably the first major hostile enemies most players encounter regularly.
Normally, they move slowly and seem manageable, but once alerted they suddenly become much faster and aggressively rush nearby players.
The danger mostly comes from groups.
One Swamper isn’t a huge problem. Three or four attacking together inside tight spaces becomes a different story entirely.
Drops
- Swamper Arms
Interestingly, Swamper Arms can actually be cooked and consumed for hydration benefits.
Best Strategy
- Aim for headshots
- Use melee staggering
- Don’t get cornered indoors
They’re relatively weak individually, but they become dangerous when they overwhelm your stamina.
Twins
| Threat Level | Very High |
|---|---|
| Enemy Type | Mutated Human |
| Behavior | Sound and movement sensitive |
| Main Danger | High durability and aggression |
Twins are one of the scariest enemies currently in the game.
Most of the time they appear crouched or inactive, which makes the first encounter incredibly deceptive. The moment they detect movement or sound, they sprint directly at players with shocking speed.
And they do not go down easily.
These things are absurdly tanky compared to most enemies.
Known Weakness
Players discovered a pretty cheesy strategy involving extraction airlocks.
Because the Twins apparently can’t fully enter certain extraction doors, players can sometimes stunlock them safely from the opposite side.
Whether that remains in the game long-term is another question.
Loot
- Trophy items only
Best Strategy
Unless you’re heavily armed, avoiding combat is usually smarter than trying to brute force the fight.
Spider
| Threat Level | High |
|---|---|
| Enemy Type | Mutant |
| Spawn Area | Emission 20 Bunker |
| Main Danger | Heavy melee damage |
The Spider only appears in the special bunker level unlocked around Emission 20, and honestly, that entire section feels like survival horror compared to the rest of the game.
The creature itself moves slowly, but its attacks hit incredibly hard.
Interestingly, many players believe the Spider is blind.
Standing completely still sometimes prevents it from noticing you, which creates some genuinely terrifying moments where nobody wants to breathe or move.
Weakness
- Very low health
- Dies quickly if attacked first
Best Strategy
If spotted early, eliminate it quickly before it closes distance.
If it’s already nearby, staying still might actually save you.
The Breaker (Four-Armed Mutant)
| Threat Level | Extreme |
|---|---|
| Enemy Type | Unknown Mutant |
| Spawn Area | Emission 20 Bunker |
| Main Danger | Near-instant death |
The Breaker is currently one of the most terrifying entities players have discovered.
Descriptions are surprisingly consistent:
- Extremely fast
- Relentless pursuit behavior
- Massive melee attacks
- Causes blackout-like screen effects
After getting hit, the player’s vision fades temporarily, and once sight returns, the character appears heavily concussed before dying shortly afterward.
Most encounters end in panic almost immediately.
Known Weaknesses
There’s no confirmed reliable strategy yet.
Some players believe enough damage eventually forces it to disappear, but nobody seems certain whether that’s intentional behavior or temporary despawning.
Best Strategy
Run.
Seriously, that’s basically the entire strategy right now.
Enemy Threat Ranking
Here’s a quick ranking of currently known creatures from safest to deadliest.
| Creature | Threat Level |
|---|---|
| Deer | Low |
| Swamper | Moderate |
| Fake Deer | Medium-High |
| Spider | High |
| Twins | Very High |
| The Breaker | Extreme |
Part of what makes MISERY so memorable is how unpredictable its world feels. The game rarely explains creatures directly, and that uncertainty makes every strange sound or silhouette feel dangerous.
Some enemies are manageable once you learn their behavior patterns.
Others still feel like complete nightmares even after multiple encounters.
And honestly, the Fake Deer might still be the creepiest thing in the entire game purely because nobody fully understands what it actually is yet.
