If you’re going for achievements in Placid Plastic Deck: A Quiet Quest, you’ll notice pretty quickly that some unlock naturally just by playing, while others require very specific actions, hidden interactions, or even deliberately losing at certain points.
This guide walks through what triggers each achievement based on actual in-game discoveries. Some still need further confirmation, but this covers everything currently known, including where to find blank cards and how to unlock the more obscure ones.
Story Progression Achievements
Some achievements unlock automatically as you move through the main story. These don’t require any special actions.
You’ll earn them simply by progressing through major milestones in the game.
Early Story Unlocks
You receive achievements for:
- Getting the Placid Plastic Deck during the prologue
- Using your first blank card
- Crossing the sea after obtaining Marina’s card
- Modifying your first card inside Carloss’ house
Using the first blank card is especially important because it unlocks the desert area on the map.
Late Story Unlocks
As you continue further into the game, additional achievements appear naturally:
- Reaching Ruckus’ lair in the desert
- Completing the main storyline
The final story achievement may specifically require the good ending, though this still needs full confirmation.
Exploration & Hidden Interaction Achievements
Several achievements require interacting with specific locations or characters in unusual ways.
Empty Your Pockets
This one involves collecting a set of seemingly useless items scattered throughout the world.
These include things like an orange, amber, feather, sculpture, moka pot, copper wire, dentures, and a seashell.
Once you gather all of them, you need to give them to the troll-like character blocking the bridge. In return, he gives you a mushroom duck card and the achievement unlocks.
Jolly Devil
In the garden area, there’s a spot where you can sit beside a pool.
After sitting there for a while, a background structure slowly fades away and then returns. Eventually, a duck wearing a propeller hat falls from the sky, triggering a short scene and unlocking the achievement.
Bibliomania
Inside the mansion, you’ll find a bookshelf at the back of the room.
Keep examining it and reading each book. When prompted to read one more, select that option. After finishing the final text, you’ll receive a duck card and the achievement.
The Infinitely Small
At the fairgrounds, you can find a girl waiting for someone.
After talking to her multiple times, ask who she’s waiting for. Then speak to the telescope girl on another screen and tell her someone is looking for her. Once she leaves, you can use the telescope yourself and unlock the achievement.
Do the Monkey!
Inside Carloss’ house is a device showing a pattern of lights.
You need to memorize that pattern and follow it through the jungle cave system starting from a specific entry point. If done correctly, you’ll pass through several surface areas and eventually reach a final cave that grants the achievement.
Mondobuzzo Achievement
To unlock this one, you must first find Larry in the hedge maze.
Later, after getting the tournament ticket, use Larry to free a man locked in a cage. After defeating him in Deccard and obtaining a key, return to a gate in the garden area and unlock it.
This leads to a hidden location and triggers the achievement.
Hail the King
After visiting the island, return to Port Faro and wait on the sea captain’s old screen.
Eventually, after leaving the area, a scene plays where King Dubby rises from the sea. This grants both his card and the achievement.
Cursed Code
During your first meeting with Ruckus, you’ll encounter a branching dialogue.
Choosing the bottom option every time throughout the conversation triggers this achievement.
The Curious One
Inside the hedge maze, following a specific path leads to a hidden wall.
Walking through that wall grants the achievement once you discover the secret area.
EVIL Achievement
During your second encounter with Kironte at the fairground, he tells you a deck name.
After defeating him and using the gold coin in the deck machine, entering that name and selecting the second option triggers the achievement.
Blank Card Achievement
There are fifteen blank cards hidden throughout the world.
You’ll receive the achievement immediately after collecting the final one.
