Twilight Chronicle Idle RPG Tier List – Best Characters

If you’re playing Twilight Chronicle completely free-to-play, your account power has almost nothing to do with how many heroes you own and everything to do with which factions you commit to and how clean your core team is.

This tier list is built entirely around that idea.

Instead of rating every hero in a vacuum, this breakdown focuses on:

  • How heroes actually perform on a F2P account

  • How much investment they need to start carrying

  • How well they fit into real, working team comps (not theory-only nonsense)

The core philosophy is simple:

  • As F2P, you mainly build Blue and Light

  • Red can be a fun, very strong “bleed” side project if your account rolls that way

  • Green is the weakest faction and only works in a very specific poison comp

Let’s start with the top of the food chain, then move faction by faction.

Tier Definitions (F2P Perspective)

Instead of a giant chart with dozens of names, we’ll group things logically:

  • S+ / SS: Absolutely broken, build-on-sight units. They define team comps.

  • S / S–: Core carries and enablers. You want them built if you own them.

  • A+ / A: Very strong pieces, either as glue units or faction staples.

  • B / “Needs a Team”: Niche or comp-locked picks. Great only in specific setups.

  • Bad: You can make them work, but they’re a resource trap for F2P.

Twilight Chronicle Idle RPG Tier List – Best Characters

S+ TIER

Reneas (Renais) – The Best Unit in the Game

Reneeas dominates every mode thanks to her stacking Momentum buffs, constant counterattacks, and unstrippable crit scaling, allowing her to dish out repeated true damage while becoming immune to control and nearly impossible to shut down.

Rose – Core of the F2P Meta

Rose continually calls extra basic attacks, applies Seal to shut down enemy skills, and executes low-HP targets, making her the single most important engine for Blue and Light carries to reach their full potential.

S TIER

Van Helsing – Reliable, Undispellable Crit Machine

Van Helsing gains Holy Silver Bolt stacks that cannot be removed, giving him huge self-sustained crit rate and letting him spam his rapid-fire basic attacks, especially when Rose enables him.

Michael – Holy AoE and Anti-Tank Specialist

Michael’s multi-hit AoE constantly reapplies Holy Seal for bursts of true damage, while her single-target ultimate strips multiple buffs and punishes tanky frontlines with defense-ignore scaling.

Lilith – The Core Poison Detonator

Lilith detonates Infect stacks for massive bursts of magical and true damage, and each kill she triggers spreads poison further, letting her wipe teams in chain reactions when supported by the right poison units.

Ying Gou – Poison Amplifier and Max HP True-Damage Dealer

Ying Gou spreads Infect across the enemy lineup, then converts poison into devastating true damage based on max HP, while also granting unseal buffs that supercharge any teammate attacking poisoned enemies.

Cer / Bathory – Bleed Controller and True-Damage Detonator

Cer builds Fireflame stacks through bleed, detonating them for huge true damage while inflicting Pain Prison, a disabling effect that stops enemies from acting and drains their health further each turn.

S– / A+ TIER

Adele – High-Speed Sigil Stacker and Backline Assassin

Adele excels at picking off low-defense backliners through multi-hit skills that apply Sigil rapidly, and with Rose’s support she can trigger Demon Slay multiple times per turn for explosive burst damage.

Sherry – Bleed Support with AoE Debuffs and Crit Utility

Sherry applies AoE bleed and Hex, stores incoming damage for deadly detonations, and boosts her team’s basic attack damage, making her a flexible support who enhances both Red and Blue/Lights units.

Luna – True-Damage Tank Breaker

Luna steadily gains defense-ignore stacks from ally actions and unleashes a full-board burst that deals heavy true damage, allowing her to punish tank-heavy teams while cleansing and shielding herself for survival.

A TIER

Raphael – Reliable Healer with Cleanse and Revival

Raphael provides consistent team healing, dispels debuffs multiple times per round, builds Mercy stacks to strengthen her sustain, and can revive fallen allies at higher awaken levels, giving Light comps incredible durability.

Albert – Teamwide Shields and Debuff Resistance

Albert gives the entire team unstrippable shields that also grant bonus damage and effect resistance, helping prevent crowd control and bleed/poison application while contributing to Holy Seal triggers through shield break effects.

Blue Healer – Cleanse-Focused, Teamwide Buffer

The Blue healer dispels two debuffs with every skill-1 cast, grants attack/defense/crit buffs to the whole team, and offers constant sustain without needing awaken levels, making her essential for most Blue-focused F2P rosters.

B TIER

Blue Tank – Serviceable Frontline with Crit Reduction

The Blue tank provides shields, crit damage reduction, and occasional Seal application, becoming much harder to kill below 60% HP, but offers less impact than simply running another damage dealer unless your team lacks survivability.

Red Tank – Low-Impact Bruiser with Awkward Scaling

The Red tank tries to mix bleed, true damage, and self-healing, but lacks strong mitigation, team utility, or reliable control, causing him to fall behind higher-impact tanks despite some interesting late-fight mechanics.
