Universal Tower Defense Tier List – Best Units Ranking

This Universal Tower Defense Tier List is rebuilt using the units directly from your spreadsheet. The rankings focus on how reliably each unit performs without evolutions, how easy they are to fit into early-game strategies, and how well they scale as your roster grows.

Universal Tower Defense Tier List

S-Tier

These units stand out due to exceptional DPS, strong AOE patterns, hybrid flexibility, or broad usefulness across story, challenges, and late-game modes.

Lulu
Massive starting damage and extremely high DPS for a base-level unit. Even with a single-target style, the raw numbers push Lulu to the top of the meta for burst scenarios.

kempachi (Enraged)
Full AOE at high damage output, strong placement value, and consistent coverage make Enraged Kempachi one of the best wave clearers. Hybrid capability gives him flexibility on any map.

scarlet maid (world)
Excellent DPS, fast SPA, and circle AOE. She performs as a reliable cleaner who doesn’t require complex setups.

shunks (conqueror)
Full AOE with strong DPS and respectable range. His placement limit is low, but each placement hits extremely hard, making him valuable for pushing through dense waves.

Cyborg (Fearless)
Great hybrid versatility, consistent circle AOE, and high DPS make him one of the best all-purpose picks for new and intermediate players.

A-Tier

These units provide strong DPS or excellent utility, fitting comfortably in most lineups.

jinwoo (monarch)
Excellent DPS with hybrid utility. Reliable performance in nearly all map types.

mob(100%)
Solid circle AOE and impressive DPS per upgrade. Easy to fit into standard ground lanes.

Spade (donut)
Full AOE on hill placement makes him extremely efficient at clearing grouped waves. High DPS keeps him competitive.

Admiral (magma)
Hybrid line AOE and decent DPS make magma Admiral a good lane shaper, particularly in straight paths.

Kirito (Cheater)
Full AOE and steady damage output. Slightly lower DPS than S-tier units, but still an excellent cleaner.

Footballer (EGO)
Surprisingly strong DPS for his category. Circle AOE and good SPA allow him to work as a wave shredder early on.

B-Tier

Good units that either require more support, struggle in hybrid coverage, or fall behind top-tier DPS units.

dragon guy (silverite)
Good damage output and useful circle AOE. Doesn’t outperform top-tier DPS units but works well in mid-game maps.

sasku (charka)
Decent DPS with circle AOE. Needs better scaling to compete with stronger AOE hybrids.

Law (ROOM)
Long range and respectable DPS with line AOE. Strong on narrow maps but map-dependent overall.

Rouge Obito
Good early–mid game burst, but falls off as higher DPS full AOE units become available.

Shikamaru (EVO)
Useful control-style unit with decent DPS. Not a primary damage source, but adds utility in wave management.

C-Tier

These units aren’t bad, but they offer lower DPS, poor AOE coverage, or limited placement value compared to stronger picks.

jinwoo (base)
Usable early on but overshadowed by the Monarch evolution.

dragon guy (base)
Lower stats and weaker AOE pattern.

Spade (base)
Circle AOE and lower DPS make him a transitional unit.

Admiral (base)
Falls behind magma Admiral by a noticeable margin.

Footballer (base)
Usable in early maps but lacks scaling.

Kirito (base)
Lower DPS and small circle AOE limit him.

D-Tier | Weak or Highly Situational

Units with low DPS, slow SPA, or AOE patterns that make them difficult to justify in stronger lineups.

Miku
No damage value and requires synergy teams to contribute meaningfully.

Miky (Super Star)
Same issues: low immediate impact and depends heavily on team support.

shunks (base)
Line AOE with low DPS and limited placement makes him hard to use effectively.

sasku (base)
Underperforms in almost every category once stronger units are unlocked.

scarlet maid (base)
Usable early but heavily outclassed by the World variant.

If you’re aiming to build a dominant roster, prioritize Lulu, Kempachi (Enraged), scarlet maid (world), Cyborg (Fearless), and shunks (conqueror).
