If you want to push high floors, take down tough bosses, or simply build the most efficient team in Voidpet Dungeon, understanding the pet meta is essential. Legendary pets sit at the top, shaping the way teams are built, while certain rare and epic pets remain surprisingly competitive thanks to unique utility or broken skills.
This Voidpet Dungeon Best Pets Tier List breaks down every notable pet in the game into SSS, SS, S, A, B, C, and D tiers, giving you a clear picture of which companions are worth investing in.
Voidpet Dungeon Best Pets Tier List – Legendary & Rare
SSS Tier
At the very top, two pets define the entire meta: HigherForm Lust (HFL) and HigherForm Greed (HFG).
HigherForm Lust is unmatched in versatility. It dominates both regular floors and boss fights with a mix of devastating skills, including an S3 that can wipe waves on its own and an S1 that scales beautifully in long boss encounters. With naturally high DPS stats, it stands tall as one of the two strongest pets in the entire game.
HigherForm Greed competes directly with Lust for that number one spot. Its ability to inflict burns while stacking powerful debuffs makes it invaluable for team synergy. Greed can burn through bosses, wipe floors with the right setup, and enable other DPS to deal even more damage. Although a bit slow, its sheer offensive power ensures it belongs in the top two.
SS Tier
This tier includes pets that either rival the HigherForms in specific situations or bring unparalleled utility.
Jealous is the strongest wood DPS and the clear number three pet overall. Its combination of AoE and multi-hit attacks, supported by Fragment scaling, allows it to compete with even the HigherForms.
Lust in its base form is weaker than HFL but still incredibly strong, particularly as a floor clearer that can solo waves with ease.
Persistence reigns supreme as the best healer in the game. With both a powerful passive heal and a full-team restore on S3, it ensures survival even on the hardest floors. Its ability to deal solid damage on top of healing makes it invaluable.
Greed (non-HigherForm) still holds a place here thanks to its high damage, even if it lacks the overwhelming dominance of HFG.
Among rares and epics, Merry and Sad are the two standouts that push their way into SS tier. Merry offers incredible versatility with DingDong, one of the most impactful skills in the game, combining ATK buffs, cleansing, healing, and forced basics for extra damage. Meanwhile, Sad is the strongest water DPS option available, offering both damage and utility with debuffs and DoTs that make it invaluable in many team setups.
S Tier
Pets in this tier are excellent and often team-defining, but each has limitations keeping them from being elite.
Among legendaries, Down Bad shines as a speed-focused wood sniper, Pride functions as a hybrid DPS and healer, Diligence excels at multi-hit percentage damage (though it weakens past floor 1,000), Wrath brings unmatched AoE destruction, and Patience thrives in drawn-out battles with scaling healing.
The rare and epic lineup in this tier includes Apathy, a self-cleansing earth DPS with utility; Resistance, the best tank in the entire game thanks to DEF scaling and shields; and Determination, the second-best tank with burn-based sustain and a passive that boosts team survivability.
A Tier
This tier is full of solid pets that can carry you for a while but are overshadowed in the long run.
Legendaries like Defiance, Mischief, Gluttony, Nostalgia, Estrangement, and Scorn all offer strong damage or utility, but they are generally weaker alternatives to higher-tier picks.
In the rare/epic pool, Wonder plays as both wood DPS and healer, Paranoia provides solid bleed-based metal DPS, Panic offers burn and speed debuffs with incredible utility as the fastest pet in the game, Spite bypasses tanks with backstab mechanics, and Sanctimony delivers bulky earth DPS with DEF reduction.
B Tier
B-tier pets work fine in certain situations but are rarely the best option.
Rare and epic pets like Anxious, Conviction, Abandonment, Cringe, Sonder, Sadge, and Salty all provide either decent DPS, tanking, or healing, but are quickly replaced by better legendaries or higher-tier rares.
C Tier
C-tier pets are functional but underwhelming. They might help in early or mid-game, but they quickly fall off.
This group includes Anger, Joy, Wistful, Judgement, and Envy among DPS options. Each has one or two tricks—such as AoE, stuns, or burn—but they lack the output or scaling to stay relevant.
D Tier
D-tier pets have kits that sound useful on paper but don’t work well in practice.
Grumpy, Desperate, Lonely, Glee, and Curious fall into this category. Whether due to weak passives, lack of versatility, or poor survivability, they simply can’t compete with better pets at higher levels.
E Tier
At the very bottom is Pain, widely regarded as the weakest pet in the game. Its tank stats are decent, but its slow speed and kit that offers no real survivability tools make it a wasted investment.
The Voidpet Dungeon meta is dominated by a small group of pets—most notably HigherForm Lust, HigherForm Greed, Jealous, Persistence, Merry, and Sad. These standouts define how teams are built, while many others exist as serviceable but ultimately replaceable options.
