For Arrancar players, unlocking Resurrección is the next major milestone after reaching your human form. Compared to the Soul Reaper Shikai questline, the Resurrection progression is much more straightforward, but many players still get confused because the game doesn’t clearly explain how meditation and Inner World progression work.
This guide covers the complete Resurrection unlock process, including meditation requirements, Inner World progression, boss fights, and what to expect during the grind.
Reach Level 35 First
Technically, Resurrection progression can begin around level 30.
However, several progression requirements involve level-gated objectives, including the “Clear the Fog” stage.
To avoid getting stuck halfway through the process, it’s strongly recommended to wait until level 35 before seriously focusing on Resurrection progression.
If you’re below level 35, continue:
- Main story quests
- Side quests
- Mission board activities
- General leveling
Once you hit level 35, you can begin working toward Resurrección efficiently.
Understanding Meditation EXP
Resurrección progression revolves around Meditation EXP.
You gain Meditation EXP simply by engaging in combat.
The important detail is that progression is tied to hits landed rather than raw damage dealt.
Fast attacks and frequent combat are generally more valuable than trying to hit huge damage numbers.
As you continue fighting enemies, you’ll eventually receive a special notification on your screen.
When that message appears, it means you’ve accumulated enough Meditation EXP for another meditation stage.
Start Meditating
Once the notification appears:
- Stop what you’re doing.
- Meditate immediately.
- Progress your Inner World.
Ignoring meditation only delays your Resurrection progression.
This cycle forms the foundation of the entire unlock process:
- Fight enemies
- Earn Meditation EXP
- Meditate
- Enter Inner World
- Repeat
You’ll perform this loop many times before reaching the final battle.
Complete the Clear the Fog Stage
Before fully accessing your Inner World progression, you’ll encounter a stage commonly known as “Clear the Fog.”
This is one reason level 35 is recommended.
Once completed, future meditation stages become much smoother.
After clearing this requirement, the remainder of the progression focuses primarily on Inner World advancement.
Entering Your Inner World
After enough meditation progress, you’ll begin entering your Inner World.
Unlike the Soul Reaper White World progression, the Arrancar version is much simpler.
Upon entering, you’ll notice glowing red eyes in the distance.
Those eyes are your guide.
Follow the Red Eyes
Every visit follows the same basic structure.
When you enter:
- Follow the red eyes.
- Continue moving toward them.
- Explore for roughly 10 to 15 seconds.
- Allow the progression event to trigger.
Eventually one of two things happens:
- The game removes you automatically.
- You leave manually.
Either result is fine.
The objective is simply progressing the Inner World stage.
Repeat the Process
The majority of Resurrection progression consists of repetition.
Your routine will look something like this:
- Fight enemies.
- Gain Meditation EXP.
- Receive meditation notification.
- Meditate.
- Enter Inner World.
- Follow red eyes.
- Leave.
- Repeat.
Many players believe they are stuck during this phase.
In reality, they are usually progressing normally.
The system simply requires a large number of meditation cycles before reaching the next stage.
The Spirit Calls You
Eventually the dialogue inside your Inner World changes.
Instead of the usual progression messages, your spirit directly speaks to you.
When this happens, you’ve reached the final stage.
Your spirit is essentially challenging you to prove yourself.
At this point:
- Enter the Inner World.
- Follow the red eyes as usual.
- Locate your spirit.
- Begin the boss encounter.
The Resurrection Boss Fight
Compared to the lengthy Shikai progression, the Resurrection boss is surprisingly straightforward.
Most players find the fight manageable because you’re facing forms and attack patterns that are already familiar from your Hollow progression.
Throughout your Hollow journey, you’ve fought similar enemies repeatedly.
Because of that, much of the battle relies on muscle memory rather than learning entirely new mechanics.
The encounter rewards:
- Good blocking
- Proper parrying
- Patience
- Familiarity with Hollow combat
For most players, the challenge is far less intimidating than the Soul Reaper Shikai boss.
Unlocking Resurrección
Once you defeat your spirit, the progression is complete.
You immediately unlock Resurrección.
Unlike Shikai, which requires multiple major stages involving bells, White World exploration, NPC challenges, and weapon identification, Arrancar progression ends as soon as the boss falls.
That’s why many players consider Resurrection significantly easier to obtain.
How Long Does Resurrection Take?
While the questline itself is simple, the grind is not.
Many players underestimate how much Meditation EXP is required.
The actual progression consists mostly of:
- Fighting enemies
- Building Meditation EXP
- Repeated meditations
- Inner World visits
Expect to spend a considerable amount of time cycling through these stages.
If it feels repetitive, that’s normal.
The progression system was clearly designed to develop naturally alongside your character leveling rather than being rushed immediately.
Fastest Way to Progress
If your goal is obtaining Resurrección as quickly as possible:
Fight Constantly
More hits mean faster Meditation EXP gain.
Meditate Immediately
Never delay a meditation notification.
Stay Level Appropriate
Being level 35 or higher prevents progression bottlenecks.
Follow the Eyes Every Time
Don’t wander aimlessly inside the Inner World.
The red eyes always point toward your next objective.
Progress While Leveling
Rather than grinding Resurrection separately, combine it with your normal leveling route.
You’ll naturally build Meditation EXP while completing quests and missions.
Resurrección may look intimidating at first, but it’s actually one of the more straightforward progression systems in VV Ultimatum. Reach level 35, build Meditation EXP through combat, meditate whenever the opportunity appears, repeatedly follow the red eyes inside your Inner World, and eventually challenge your spirit.
The process is repetitive rather than difficult. If you stay consistent with combat and never ignore meditation opportunities, you’ll eventually reach the final fight and unlock your Resurrección without too much trouble.
