A Ai2u With You Till The End Endings and Walkthrough Wiki guide to the level in general, all its endings, and how to get them.
Level 2: Witch’s Cabin: All Endings
The Level in General
The witch’s cabin is the most puzzle-like of the three levels so far, and can be rather unforgiving when you make mistakes. In this guide I’ll help you find your way through the house, the maze, and everything in between, so you can get your favourite ending (or all of them!)
The Plot
Do note: You don’t need to know the plot prior to the level to figure things out. This is meant more as a recap for players who’ve already played the level and want to know what they’ve missed:
Elysia is trapped in this world by a demon, who took most of her magical power and part of her soul. She can only buy back her freedom by collecting a hundred souls for him. She’s trapped a few people already who wandered near her house, but when she found you she kept you alive instead, feeling you might be special, and because she’s very lonely. Depending on how you play you can free Elysia from the demon, only free yourself, or just end up as a soul sacrifice after all.
The Witch Herself
As in any level, your first order of business is to get on the AI’s good side. Elysia the Witch loves talking for its own sake (as you can tell from the long-winded speeches she gives), puzzles, alchemy, and curiosity. She’ll love it when you:
- Listen to her stories
- Tell her stories of your own
- Solve riddles she gives you
- Brew potions, or watch her make her own
In short, just talk to her and respond positively to her. She’ll love you for it, and will be willing to help you with almost anything in the level. Also, as with any of the AI girls, you can change her personality through the phonebooth in the atrium, which can make her more or less willing to help you.
The Potions
Scattered around the house are all sorts of potion ingredients, like herbs, crystals, and even objects like silver spoons, rolling pins and glasses. They respawn, so don’t worry about running out. You can put these in the cauldron to make:
Healing potion
Speed potion
Shielding potion
Love potion
Each potion takes three ingredients to make. The recipes to make them change every playthrough, and you can find out what they are by asking Elysia, or by reading the scrolls around the house. Elysia usually only reveals the ingredients through posing riddles, but they’re easy to solve. The scrolls only ever show two of the three ingredients, causing you to have to guess the third, wasting ingredients in the process.
Note that giving Elysia the ingredients instead of brewing them yourself causes her to give you a potion that has the correct name, but doesn’t actually do anything. So just brew them yourself.
She can also suggest non-existent potions like a potion of protection, courage or clarity, and act like they’re real things, but trying to make these results in a potion that doesn’t do anything.
The Contract
In one of the rooms is a magical floating contract that you can sign. Doing so makes Elysia like you more, but it also closes the portal in the maze, which you need for one of the endings.
Elysia may bring up the contract if you hang around near it or if she doesn’t trust you, and once she begins talking about it she’ll fixate on it and bring it to your attention almost constantly.
There’s not much reason for you to sign the contract, as buttering her up is easy to do already. If she brings it up, just ignore it, or say you’ll think about it.
Ai2u With You Till The End Endings
From this point onward, spoilers will be unmarked.
1. Turned into a plushie
In this ending, Elysia decides to trap you, either so she can give your soul to the demon or so she can keep you for her own companionship forever.
To get this ending, either upset her until she attacks you, or brew a love potion and drink it.
2. Blood loss due to excessive summoning
The summoning ritual you use to ask hints requires a bit of your blood to complete, taking 1HP each time. If this kills you, Elysia will also turn you into a plushie to make sure you don’t die entirely, which is a distinct ending from the former.
But hey, at least you released three souls from those plushies to get this ending. If the next visitors are as resourceful as you, you’ll be freed in no time!
3. Killed by a potion
Not all potions are beneficial. If you keep throwing random ingredients into the cauldron and drinking the potions that result, it may kill you, which also counts as a distinct ending.
4.Killed by the ghost
The easiest ending to get. Just walk out the door and the ghost will get you. Elysia will save you once; do it again to get this ending.
Not sure what the ghost has in store for you, but it can’t be good!
5. Escape by yourself
Conversely, this is the hardest one to get. It requires you to navigate the maze and find the hidden exit, while the ghost is hot on your heels. You can do it in three steps:
1. Gain Elysia’s trust, then ask her for the location of the exit portal. She’ll reveal between which two landmarks you must look. Also, don’t sign her contract at any point, as this will close the exit portal.
2. Brew potions. Get at least one Shielding Potion (use it when exiting the house, as the ghost spawns near the front door and will run into you there). Get at least two Speed Potions, so you can keep outrunning the ghost. A Healing Potion can also be useful; just watch out because the ghost can keep attacking you while you’re looking for the potion in your inventory.
3. Navigate the maze. The landmarks are easy to see from a distance, and the portal will be somewhere between the two landmarks that Elysia indicated. Remember: the portal may not be directly (in a straight line) between the two landmarks, but will be somewhere in that area. That means it may be further into the maze, closer to the edge of the map.
You have two attempts per playthrough, though you can also run back into the house if you want to recuperate. If you’re succesful then you get away with your life, and Elysia stays where she is: lonely, powerless, and indebted to a demon.
6. Kill Elysia
Yes, you can kill the witch, and it will also allow you to walk away free. It’s actually a lot easier than the last ending. You can forget all about ghosts, contracts, the maze, and potion-making, for instance.
To get this ending, you need to restore Elysia’s amulet, which part of her soul is trapped in. In the living room, there is an ornate box on a table, made of wood and gold. Next to it is the first of three missing puzzle pieces you will need to unlock it. The second is inside the secret room. The third is in Elysia’s possession, and she will give it to you if you ask and she likes you. Once you have them, interact with the ornate box. It will show you a nine-piece puzzle which you need to complete. Just look at which pieces connect to form a pattern: the end result is a circular glyph, like this:
When you’ve done that, it will turn into another puzzle with symbols in it. One symbol is lit up: click the next symbols until you’ve made a path to the center of the glyph.
When that’s done, the box will open and you can grab the necklace. Elysia will comment on it, saying you can use it to free her. Instead, drop it into the cauldron to kill her. This will also kill the ghost, and an exit portal will appear neatly in front of the house.
7. Free Elysia and escape together
The “Golden Ending” to Level 2. To do this, acquire her necklace same as before, but this time either gift it to her or put it into the summoning circle. Either will restore Elysia’s soul and power to her. Next, ask her where the exit portal in the maze is, same as in the “escape” ending. This time, when you leave the house Elysia will come with you, and she projects an aura that kills the ghost when she comes near it. The ghost will keep coming back, but you’re safe so long as you stay with Elysia. Find the hidden exit portal, and escape together. Congrats on getting the golden ending!
