With Season 3 now well underway, The First Descendant has seen some serious meta shifts—especially with recent buffs, sandbox changes, and how different game modes reward specific playstyles. Whether you’re diving into Void Intercepts, grinding Sector 400s, or just clearing out Purge and General Missions, knowing who’s worth building right now is essential.
This tier list is designed for new, returning, and mid-core players who want a snapshot of the current meta. We’re not diving deep into min-max builds or role-specific comps just yet—this is about general utility, versatility, and overall power across the board.
Let’s break it down.
The First Descendant Tier List Season 3 – Best Descendants 2025
J Tier – Meta Breaker
Jabber
- Role: All-Rounder (Mobbing & Bossing)
- Why He’s Here: Jabber is the gold standard for Descendants right now. From solo play to co-op, bossing to mobbing, he does it all—and he does it easily.
- Strengths: No real weaknesses, effortless clears, low setup.
- Use If: You want a Descendant who just dominates every part of the game.
- Weaknesses: Only one—he might get nerfed.
S Tier – Top Tier Picks for All Content
These Descendants are borderline broken, but slightly more situational or setup-dependent than Jabber.
Enzo
- Type: Sustain DPS / Support Hybrid
- Why S Tier:
- Incredible mobbing and bossing value with Unlimited Restored Relic builds.
- Can self-sustain and provide ammo support for the team.
- Scales into all content well.
Fraina
- Type: Nuke DPS
- Why S Tier:
- One of the best Descendants for spawn nuking.
- Can perform in both bossing and mobbing.
- Particularly powerful in defense and wave-based content.
A Tier – Versatile and Strong
These Descendants are strong in most modes, but have minor drawbacks compared to S-tier characters.
Glay
- Type: Ranged AoE DPS
- Strengths:
- Explosive Life is a standout damage source.
- Can clear rooms from range quickly.
- Weakness: Requires a bit more setup than top-tier picks.
Valby (Vali)
- Type: AoE Burst DPS
- Strengths:
- Good mobbing tools, strong versatility.
- Weakness: Lacks range and consistent bossing efficiency.
B Tier – Still Viable but Situational
Solid picks, especially for players who want to focus on speedruns or niche styles. These Descendants are good, but not quite plug-and-play for all content.
Bunny
- Type: Fast Mobbing Specialist
- Strengths:
- Likely the fastest mobber in the game right now.
- Excellent for clearing general content quickly.
- Weakness: Terrible boss damage. Feels like a one-trick pony.
Keelin
- Type: Sector Mobbing DPS
- Strengths:
- Clears waves efficiently.
- Weakness: Weak boss damage, not ideal for intercepts.
Luna
- Type: Buffer / Utility
- Strengths:
- Can massively boost crit builds and support teammates.
- Weakness: Requires strong team synergy. Her slow mobbing speed limits her in solo/general use.
- Verdict: B-tier now, but might rise once Ultimate Luna arrives.
C Tier – Playable, but Outclassed
These Descendants have one or two useful traits but are either clunky, underwhelming, or just don’t offer enough to justify picking them over others.
Ajax
- Type: Tank / Off-Mobber
- Strengths: Can mob okay with a proper build.
- Weaknesses: Tanking is irrelevant in current meta. Lacks impact in team play.
Sharen
- Type: Stealth DPS / Burst
- Strengths: Can one-shot high-value targets.
- Weaknesses: Not consistent or versatile.
Blair
- Type: Short-range AoE DPS
- Strengths: Recently buffed, but range is too limited.
- Weaknesses: Doesn’t bring value in Purge or Abyss runs.
D Tier – Niche or Non-Meta
These Descendants are not recommended unless you’re a fan of their style or want to challenge yourself. They simply don’t compete in general content right now.
Serena
- Type: Hybrid Support
- Why D Tier: Her toolkit doesn’t bring any value to current PvE needs. Completely outclassed.
Eugene
- Type: Utility Support
- Strengths: Technically has good buff potential with Proliferating Allergy.
- Why D Tier: Skill is too punishing if missed, and support roles just aren’t required right now.
